MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

October 20, 2025

Our membership survey is out and we need your input, please. As a member-driven organization with the most diverse membership in the state, this annual survey is vital to our work. From small startups and family-owned businesses to global corporations and nonprofits, our members represent every corner of Delaware’s business community. Because of that, getting a pulse on what our membership needs each year is key.

This short, eight-minute questionnaire helps inform the work we’ll be doing for the next year or longer. The information collected directs our policy priorities and the work of the Delaware State Chamber Foundation as we dive deeper into pragmatic ideas and solutions to address your concerns.

This feedback also supports the agenda development of our policy conferences, consultant work, polling, and more. Therefore, please help us focus on issues of importance to you and your business. It’s very important for us to be laser-focused on the things that matter most to you. Your participation is important and appreciated. The survey is open until Friday, October 31. Take the survey >

News You Can Use

We kick off this morning with September results of U.S. leading economic indicators, followed by remarks from Fed governors on Tuesday and Wednesday. Existing home sales for September are released on Thursday, and Fed Vice Chair for Supervision Michelle Bowman testifies that day, too. Friday is the busiest day, as we get consumer price index data for September, an early look at mid-October consumer sentiment, and September new home sales.

While economic data points are light this week, this is a very busy time for companies and earnings calls. We start today with Cleveland Cliffs, Crown, and Zions Bancorp (that one will be interesting). 3M, Coca-Cola, Danaher, Equifax, GE Aerospace, General Motors, Halliburton, Lockheed Martin, Mattel, Philip Morris International, PulteGroup, Netflix, Capital One, Chubb, and Capital One are among a long list of calls on Tuesday. The Wednesday lineup includes AT&T, CME Group, Hilton, Moody’s, Northern Trust, Rogers Communications, Churchill Downs, Kinder Morgan, Lending Club, Robert Half, Tesla, United Rentals, and more. WSFS Financial, American Airlines, Brunswick, Dow, Honeywell, PG&E, T-Mobile US, Tractor Supply, Valero Energy and others are slated for Thursday. Friday calls include General Dynamics, Illinois Tool Works, Proctor & Gamble, and others.
