Several law enforcement agencies, aspects of the Secret Service, firearms instructors and training academies have banned the Sig Sauer P320 handgun due to safety concerns, specifically the potential for unintended discharge. The Mingle has banned it as well.

Key points about the bans and concerns:

• Unintended discharges:

The primary concern is that the P320 can discharge without the trigger being pulled, often due to bumping, dropping, or holstering. This has caused countless injuries and fatalities.

Here's what is known about Sig P320 discharge incidents:

• Lawsuits and Reports of Injuries: Numerous lawsuits and reports allege the P320 can discharge without the trigger being pulled. Over 100 people claimed their P320 discharged unexpectedly, with at least 80 gunshot wounds sustained.

• Deaths: At least three deaths have been linked to alleged unintentional discharges of the Sig P320. The latest being a U.S. Airforce Airman out of F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming on July 20th, 2025

Sig Sauer's response:

Sig Sauer has stated that the P320 is safe when used as intended and with proper training. However, the company has faced criticism and scrutiny regarding the safety concerns.

Sig Sauer states “The P320 CANNOT, under any circumstances, discharge without a trigger pull – that is a fact. The allegations against the P320 are nothing more than…..” https://www.sigsauer.com/p320-truth

As we know, this is not the case. We have BANNED this model at all EVENTS. We will be banning this model at The Complete Combatant in it's entirety (all classes and events) as of January 1st, 2026.

Safety is our number one concern so we need to modify. We understand that replacing a pistol, and all the entails, is expensive and time consuming so we are giving you "time". We HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend replacing your P320 immediately.

If available, you can borrow a HK and holster from us to train with at NO CHARGE!

If you chose to train with The Complete Combatant with this model prior to our official ban on January 1st, 2026, we will follow this............

• Upon arrival, the condition of your firearm needs be EMPTY on body or EMPTY in a bag/rug with NO MAG. Please let Brian know. You will show "clear" upon arrival.

• You will be COLD the entire weekend (no rounds in the chamber), when not engaged in a drill

• When on the line, you will unload and show CLEAR after each course of fire
