Greetings! In a recent podcast, I defined innovation, in part, as “doing things that have not been done before.” It inspired me to share some stories of recent innovations at Adelphi. We are launching a new business program that allows high-achieving students to save a year of tuition. We've created a first-ever collaboration with our neighboring community college to open new doors for more students. We'll be helping future teachers benefit from a new multimillion-dollar grant. And several talented computer science students have recreated our campus—in Minecraft. Inside Higher Ed announces the Adelphi-Nassau Gateway Program in “Best of Both Worlds.” A Newsday story on beginning a new job working from home features Adelphi graduate (and current business grad student) Andrew Jacobson ’20. NPR's All Things Considered interviews Michael D'Emic, PhD, associate professor of biology and dinosaur researcher, on a new study suggesting dinosaurs might not have been as cold-blooded as previously thought.  “Psychological principles can be used to better understand the interplay between cyber attackers and defenders and can shed light on how to motivate everyday computer users to adopt more secure practices and avoid risky behaviors.”

—Anita D'Amico, PhD ’84, Vice President of Market Development at Synopsys A Gordon F. Derner School of Psychology grad and honoree at the 125th anniversary President's Gala, she was quoted in Semiconductor Engineering on the launch of the Anita D'Amico Endowment Fund for Cybersecurity and Psychology Research at Adelphi.
