During winter, Marina Coast Water District reminds you to suspend your automatic irrigation scheduling and water semi-automatically or only as needed. The required watering frequency in clear weather during winter may be reduced to once every two weeks or less. Lawns and potted plants may need watering once or twice per week in clear weather, but not established shrubs. Assure your plants get a thorough watering each time you do water, and be sure to suspend your automatic irrigation when rainfall is in the forecast!
Over watering in winter can damage roots and lead to root rot, so protect your plants and shrubs and suspend automatic irrigation.
