As of August 16, the Dade County School District has 11 active COVID-19 cases across the district, including both students (4) and staff (7). In accordance with the Georgia Department of Public Health’s Administrative Order and Quarantine Guidance, approximately 70 students and employees have been quarantined as a result of these 11 cases.

(Approved by Dr. Gary Voccio, Dade County Health Department) updated 08162020

1. Definition of EXPOSED or CLOSE CONTACT: This means you were closer than 6 feet to someone who tested positive for COVID-19 and you didn't have a mask on and you were closer than 6 feet for a combined 15 minutes or more within a 24 hour period.

2. IF you were EXPOSED to someone COVID-19 POSITIVE, then you must quarantine for 14 DAYS and should be tested on the 10th day.

3. IF YOU TEST POSITIVE FOR COVID-19, you should ISOLATE at home for a minimum of 10 days and 24 hours without symptoms and fever free without fever reducing medications. This means you may be isolated longer than 10 days.

4. Dr. Voccio reminds us to be vigilant about hand washing with soap and water, social distancing and wearing a mask/face shield.

Parents and Employees should contact their principal when issues arise. The principal, nurse, HR rep and superintendent will work collaboratively with DPH to advise.
