COVID-19 Task Force Updates, Successful Connection Continues,
Dedication Day, Re-Enroll by May 4th
April 20, 2020

Dear RWS Community,

As much as COVID-19 has altered everyone’s daily routines and has made us create new routines, we feel fortunate, but not surprised, to have the support by and for our students, parents, employees and friends. The RWS Vision embraces, even now, the changes we are having to make: “We embrace every opportunity to develop curious, confident and capable individuals who can bring forth healthy change in the world.” The example we set for our students in how we adjust to change is an example for them that, even if personally difficult, change is inevitable.

The COVID-19 Task Forces recently established by the Board of Trustees, have begun meeting and collaborating to ensure the most efficient communication and planning.  Ideas are being generated to stay connected as a community, to prepare for the end of this academic year, this summer and the reopening of school.

Staying connected through the classrooms with the students, parent class meetings and Friday Gathering continues to improve.  Thank you all for your feedback and suggestions of how to best deliver the technology and completing the recent Parent Survey! We welcome your suggestions at any time!

This Friday, April 24th is our Dedication Day.  Look to the Messenger for how this will be celebrated on Friday. We are also creating an additional RWS Facebook group for the purpose of helping our community self-employed individuals or business owners to sell their work or advertise their business. More, too, about this in Wednesday’s Messenger.

The intention and planning goes on for as much a ‘normal’ next academic year as possible. Again, I ask you to please re-enroll by May 4th , as knowing the anticipated number of students is key to preparing a realistic budget for operations and salaries. The teachers prepared their classroom budgets in early March, including supplies, equipment and field trips. We want our community to be as strong as possible so the students experience and have wonderful RWS memories.

Thanks to our faculty and staff for the continued delivery of good work for our students!
