Learning and Community Highlights

Buddies in the Wild: Learning and Friendship at the Ecological Preserve

JK and 3rd grade buddies recently took their curiosity outdoors with a joyful visit to the Catawba College Ecological Preserve. As part of 3rd grade’s animal classification unit, students explored how birds’ beaks are adapted to different environments—an experiential learning adventure that sparked discovery and deepened friendships.

Exploring Ancient Asia in Second Grade

Second grade students recently wrapped up an immersive unit on Ancient Asian Civilizations, exploring how geography, culture, and traditions shaped early societies. Highlights included building zodiac wheels, solving math problems with Chinese symbols, and crafting colorful dragons inspired by New Year parades—all capped off with mandarin oranges and fortune cookies for a sweet taste of culture and collaboration.

Leadership Begins Here: Middle School Mini Academy

This fall, Salisbury Academy launched its first-ever Middle School Mini Academy—a new series led by School Counselor Mrs. Kia Creamer to nurture confidence, character, and purpose. In this inaugural session, students explored the foundations of leadership, identified their personal strengths, and created mission statements that they proudly shared in chapel. It's one more way Salisbury Academy empowers students to lead with heart and intention.

College Fair Inspires Purpose and Possibility

Salisbury Academy’s Upper School College Fair welcomed students, families, and members of the Rowan-Salisbury community for an evening of meaningful connections with college representatives. With six colleges in attendance and a strong turnout, students continued their Jaguar Journey with greater clarity and confidence. Events like this are a powerful reminder: Life Ready Begins Here.
