Reduced Adoption Fees Offered During NBC4 and Telemundo’s 52nd Annual Clear The Shelters™ “Adopt and Donate” Weekend

Los Angeles, August 24, 2022 — Bring home a new furry friend from LA Animal Services during this weekend’s NBC4 and Telemundo 52nd annual Clear The Shelters™ adoption event. Starting Friday, August 26 through Sunday, August 28, adoption fees for cats and kittens are waived and adoption fees for dogs and puppies are $20 (not including $20 license fee for dogs four months and older).

Dogs and cats adopted from LA Animal Services join their new families already spayed or neutered, vaccinated, licensed, and microchipped, and adopters receive a VCA Healthy Start Certificate, which provides up to $250 of follow up veterinary care within the first 14 days of adoption. In addition, canine companions adopted from LA Animal Services are also eligible for free dog training classes at the Paws for Life K9 Rescue People & Pet Innovation Center in Mission Hills, CA. Contact Info@pawsforlifek9.org for more details.

You can view the amazing dogs, cats, rabbits, and pocket pets who are ready to meet you and are available for adoption in our Centers by going to laanimalservices.com/adopt.

Love pets but can’t adopt or foster? You can still show your support for pets in our Centers by making a donation to ClearTheSheltersFund.org where 100 percent of your donation supports the animals in our six LA Animal Services shelters.

Clear The Shelters™ / Desocupar Los Albergues® is an annual, nationwide pet adoption campaign that is spearheaded by NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations, a division of NBCUniversal. Every year, NBCUniversal’s TV stations (NBC and Telemundo owned stations), plus affiliated stations partner with local animal shelters and rescues in their communities to host Clear The Shelters events. NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations’ Clear The Shelters campaign was inspired by a 2014 North Texas pet adoption event hosted by NBC 5 / KXAS and Telemundo 39 / KXTX and dozens of area shelters that resulted in the most adopted pets in one day for North Texas. Since 2015, NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations’ Clear The Shelters pet adoption campaign has resulted in more than 410,000 pets finding new homes.
