New Adult B'nai Mitzvah &
Judaic Studies Class
Starting  October 2

Join a group of dedicated learners and become a member of the TBC Adult B'nai Mitzvah & Judaic Studies Class of 2019.

If you never experienced becoming a Bar or Bat Mitzvah as a 13 year old, it's not too late to experience this spiritually significant Jewish rite of passage as an adult.

Together, you and your classmates will embark on an educational journey that will broaden your knowledge of Torah, liturgy, customs and rituals and allow you to share and explore your ever evolving Jewish identity. In an easy to follow program, you will develop your Hebrew skills so that you will begin to be able to read Hebrew prayers during services and, as the culmination of the course, you will be called to read from the Torah in celebration of your becoming a Bar or Bat Mitzvah.

Rabbi Rachel Bearman and Karin Beitel, Director of Lifelong Learning, will be your instructors.

There will be a Hebrew lesson every week and a combination of Hebrew and Jewish studies every other week.

Some members of the congregation have expressed interest in joining this class for the Judaic Studies portion only (not leading to participation in the Adult B'nai Mitzvah service). We are pleased to offer this option to anyone who wants to participate in the class in this manner. The enrollment fee would be $20.

Classes begin Tuesday, October 2 at 7:00 p.m.

Adult B'nai Mitzvah Service - Friday, June 14, 2019
