Bensalem Branch

Presenter Sue Begent, a small business mentor with CoCreation Zone, will provide insider information to make a difference in growing your business venture. She will introduce you to the five critical business building skills you need to start your business quickly and efficiently and help you to avoid common small business pitfalls while handling the challenges of building your own small business.

Join this important training presented by NOVA, the Network of Victim Assistance, for a prevention training that teaches adults how to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. Featuring real people and empowering experiences, this training conveys a five-step approach to prevent child sexual abuse through an audio-visual presentation and supplemental workbook. Participants will leave this training feeling better prepared to protect the children in their lives and communities.

This talk includes everything you want to know about the Red Cross: from their establishment in Northern Italy in 1859 to their local work in Bucks County. They will discuss what people need to do NOW to be Red Cross Ready and better prepared at home ahead of a disaster. They will also share details about the Home Fire Campaign, SOUND THE ALARM!, which includes the installation of free smoke alarms and other life-saving information.

Join Aging Well PA and Community Health Partners to learn more about Community HealthChoices (CHC), a managed care program. CHC will be the service program for persons enrolled in both Medicare and Medicaid; individuals enrolled in Medicaid Waivers for physical disabilities; and Medicaid-eligible consumers who reside in a nursing home. Presented by the Penn Foundation, this program will discuss the role of parents in preventing, identifying and dealing with bullying behavior. It will address the definition of what is and is not bullying, the impact of social media and cyber-bullying, strategies for helping young people respond to bullying and resources for parents in assisting their children.

During this class, the Bucks County Suicide Prevention Task Force, sponsored by Magellan Healthcare, will help you to become a QPR Gatekeeper, trained to understand and recognize a mental health crisis. You will learn the warning signs of suicide and the language to talk about it. Using simple QPR steps, Gatekeepers will learn how to offer hope and help to individuals to access appropriate supports. A Certificate of Completion will be provided at the end of the training. This training is best for high school students and adults.

Participants will use the support of a chair (provided), which is ideal for those who have limited mobility due to various physical limitations and balance considerations.  All ages, levels of experience, flexibility and physical ability are welcome to participate.
