Catholic Basics
With what name does God reveal Himself?
God revealed himself to Moses as the living God, “the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob” (Exodus 3:6). God also revealed to Moses his mysterious name “I Am Who I Am (YHWH)”. Already in Old Testament times this ineffable name of God was replaced by the divine title Lord. Thus in the New Testament, Jesus who was called Lord is seen as true God.

Reflections on Our Life in Christ
Hail Mary
May is a month traditionally celebrated by Catholics with "May Processions" or "May Crownings" to honor our Blessed Mother. The Marian devotions this particular May are accentuated in our Diocese by the Diocesan-wide consecration to Jesus through Mary. Devotion to the Blessed Mother is nothing new for our Diocese as she is the Principal Patroness of the Diocese of Allentown and a significant number of our parishes are named for her. We should take this to heart and be sure to devote ourselves in a special way to Mary during our personal prayer time.

St. Louis de Montfort, the prolific author of the consecration to Jesus through Mary, discusses that Mary is the quickest and safest way to Jesus. Whether you add a Hail Mary to your regular prayer routine, pray the Rosary more often, begin saying the Angelus, pray the Little Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary, or take on the aforementioned Consecration; now is the perfect time to begin or increase your devotion to the Mother that God chose for Himself.

Let us Praise the Lord.
-And give him thanks.
Thank you for reading. We pray that you have a joyful Easter Season. Hopefully we will see you at some of our events!

Deo Omnis Gloria.
