News from the Foundation

The Cary Library Foundation funds digital!

Digital demand at the library is increasing each year, and Foundation donations directly support funding of digital (and print) content at Cary Library. The library's cost for purchasing an e-book (for reading on a kindle, phone or tablet, for example) is much higher than the print version AND an e-book license expires after a certain period of time or number of check-outs. For the popular book The Women by Kristin Hannah, the hardcover print copy costs the library $16.50 versus a $60 e-book (expires after 24 months) and $60 audiobook! Thanks to your support, the Foundation is able to help the Library meet our community's growing appetite for ebooks. To donate and to find out more about the Foundation, please visit www.carylibraryfoundation.org. Interested in volunteering? Please contact Mary Ellen Ringo, the Foundation's Executive Director, at meringo@carylibraryfoundation.org and 781-698-4405. Thank you for your consideration!

News from the Friends

Holiday Shopping in Our Bookstore

There’s a chill in the air and the leaves are falling, so sometime in the next few weeks, we’ll be stocking the Friends bookstore with holiday items. You’ll find a new holiday cart in the store, and look for additional items on the shelves.

We won’t be able to have our fall book sale this year because of the ChiRP construction, but we’re keeping the store well stocked, and we appreciate your ongoing support through your store purchases and Friends memberships. Happy fall!

Art Galleries

on view at the Community Center (39 Marrett Rd.) through the end of November 2024.
