RVC Monthly Highlights

Mission Moment:

Jason La

Jason La’s RVC journey is a testament to the lasting impact of our community.

As a current Boys 18 Travel athlete and RVC ref, Jason has experienced firsthand how RVC helps young people grow—both on and off the court.

Tune in as he shares how RVC has shaped his journey, strengthened his love for the game, and connected him to a community that feels like home.

Thank You For A Great Week Of Giving!

Special thank you to our RVC family for your contributions over the past week!

Your support made our 2nd Annual Week of Giving a huge success. Whether you donated, bid, shared, or participated, you helped make a lasting impact on youth in our community.

Together, we’re creating opportunities, building belonging, and growing the game.

Mission Moment: Emmerson & Anni Helms!

For Anni and Emmerson Helms, RVC has been more than just a place to play—it’s been a community, a home, and a source of opportunities.

From Emmerson’s very first days in our youth programs at age 6 to her growth as a player today, the Helms family’s journey reflects the lasting impact of access, support, and belonging.

Tune in to hear their story.

RVC Member Spotlight

Member Spotlight: The Keeler Family!

Have you ever thought about becoming a foster parent? You might be surprised at how many people say they have considered it at one time or another!

Jess and Devin Keeler have been longtime members of RVC. They continue to play regularly, have each served two terms on the board, and are now getting their kids interested in the sport! They were inspired by a fellow RVC member to look into foster parenting.

After considering a “yes” to that very question, they attended an information session with the Henrico County Department of Social Services, took the training and became foster parents in 2017.

They have since had 6 kiddos join their family for a time (ranging from 3 weeks to 2 years), have provided respite care for several others, and are currently in the process of adopting one!

If you or anyone you know is interested in learning more about becoming a foster parent, Henrico County DSS is offering upcoming Information Sessions on:

June 10 - 6:00 p.m. at Fairfield Library;

July 14 - virtual (info link);

August 12 - 6:00 p.m. at Libbie Mill Library

After attending an information session, there is a fall training session starting in August and running for 10 weeks.

Registration and more information can be found using the link below.

Feel free to find Jess or Devin at the club if you have any questions or would like some more information! Please consider your “yes"!!
