Special Silent Film/Live Music Event at Cornell Cinema
This month at Cornell Cinema, The City Without Jews (1924) is being shown in a recent restoration by Filmarchiv Austria on March 24th at 7:00 PM. The original score will be performed by world-renowned klezmer violinist Alicia Svigals and celebrated silent film pianist Donald Sosin.
This darkly comedic satire about a Viennese-type city that expels its Jews to solve its financial problems, only to experience rapid economic and cultural decline, turned out to be sadly prescient.

Cornell Global Club Mixer (Digital Happy Hour)
Saturday, April 2, 2022, 6:00 PM
Bring your beverage of choice and make friends with Cornellians from around the world! When you participate in this mixer, you’ll join Cornellians across the generations: from recent graduates to those who are now grandparents to Cornellians.
Mingle in small discussion groups centered around Cornell-related themes. Share your favorite spots in Collegetown, reminisce on the festivities of Spring/Slope Day, and learn how Cornell has changed over the decades.
The mixer will use Zoom video chat and split into small breakout rooms, so everyone has a chance to talk and share. Groups will rotate so you can meet many Cornellians throughout the mixer. The video chat will begin a few hours prior to the start of the mixer, to offer technical assistance to attendees who may need help. Join for a few minutes or a few hours!

Webinar: Know Your Numbers
Thursday, March 31st, 12:00-1:00 PM
This interactive webinar, presented by Merlin Marrain-Jackson, Chronic Disease Program Coordinator at Cayuga Community Health Network, will look at the various numbers associated with health. Join this discussion-based session to learn how to "know your numbers!" How does an individual know if they’re in good health? Their primary care doctor might tell them that their blood pressure is "good" but what does good mean? Blood pressure, blood sugar, heart rate, BMI, and waist circumference are all examples of health indicators.
After this session participants will be able to do the following:
- Advocate for themselves and keep track of their numbers.
- Be able to explain why these numbers matter and their associated diseases
- Know what their numbers mean and how to make changes to improve health outcomes.
