VACCINE UPDATE

The COVID pandemic has changed our lives and our world over the last year. Now, we can improve the situation by getting vaccinated. We strongly encourage all our caregivers and staff to get vaccinated as soon as possible. We know some of you have already completed this process and have had your two shots. We also know many of you have had difficulty scheduling your vaccines, as the supply has been so limited. Please continue to try to schedule, even if it means going back to the website and checking every day. Eventually there will be vaccine appointments available in your area. Once you have had your vaccine, please provide documentation to JoAnne so she can update your personnel records. Here is the link to schedule your vaccine: https://www.doh.wa.gov/YouandYourFamily/Immunization/VaccineLocations#VaccinationSitesByCounty Thank you for taking care of yourselves, your loved ones, and your clients by getting vaccinated.

Need Insurance? 2021 Special Enrollment Period for Marketplace Coverage started on HealthCare.gov on February 15

The US Department of Health and Human Services has announced the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) that the Special Enrollment Period (SEP) for the Health Insurance Marketplace and has officially made available to consumers in the 36 states that use the HealthCare.gov platform that started Monday February 15th, and will continue through Saturday, May 15th (Washington is one of these states).

The COVID-19 Public Health Emergency has affected millions of people throughout the country, and many Americans remain uninsured or underinsured and need access to affordable health coverage. The SEP will allow individuals and families to enroll in the health coverage they need. Employee Recognition: What Clients Are Saying About You

We've had the opportunity this month to both witness and hear about how YOU all are helping our clients and making a difference in their lives. We want to highlight some of those quotes here:

Jackie, AHC scheduler "Jackie is superb! She makes me feel cared for, listened to, and confident that my dad is receiving the best possible care. With Jackie, you hit the jackpot - she's the best and that makes AHC the best. I wouldn't consider going anywhere else with my business, and you can thank Jackie for that! I so appreciate talking with someone who listens to me and follows up. I cannot say that enough. I get off the phone with Jackie and my whole day is better."
Audrey, daughter of a client

Kathleen S. "She is extremely friendly and interested in making my mother's life easier."
Sherry, daughter of client

April S. "The caregiver that we have is wonderful to work with. She will watch him when he has to get up, helps him get dressed, and helps prepare his food. She has become a real friend to us so we can talk to her about his care and things.
Deborah, daughter of client

We are so proud of all of the work that you do with our clients. We look forward to highlighting employees in this column every month!
Interested in ways to engage your clients' minds and hands during your shifts?
Who knew there was a whole month dedicated to keeping your mind and hands busy through crafting?" If you are interested in learning new ideas for activities and crafts that you can do with your clients or family, check out this list compiled by one family caregiver for her mom living with dementia. Your client and the families you serve may appreciate the renewed creativity that you bring to your next shift. If we have to work, it might as well be fun!
