Advancing Growth Monitoring and Promotion Globally
Growth monitoring and promotion (GMP), implemented by health workers worldwide, is crucial in preventing malnutrition and an important delivery platform for improving child nutrition, health, and development outcomes. Despite its importance, challenges such as inaccurate growth measurements and ineffective counseling have hindered its effectiveness.
USAID Advancing Nutrition built on past efforts of global nutrition partners to strengthen GMP by learning from experiences in Ghana and Nepal, providing a forum for global experts to discuss common challenges and opportunities, exploring digital tools to enhance service quality, and informing an agenda for future research and learning investments to help guide programming and policies to improve GMP counseling globally.
