Evening Compline and Centering Prayer
Join us this Advent season on the following Thursdays from 6-7pm for contemplative quiet prayer in the Sanctuary with Evening Compline followed by Centering Prayer.
December 19
The ancient office of Compline derives its name from a Latin word meaning 'completion' (completorium). It is a service of quietness and reflection before rest at the end of the day which includes a confession of sins, psalms, reading from scripture, the Lord's Prayer and a collect which asks for God's protection during the night to come.
Centering Prayer is a method of Christian contemplative silent prayer which deepens our relationship with God...a prayer in which we can experience God's presence within us through listening with open hearts and open minds.

For your information, the cost of each bouquet is $40.50; whatever you donate will be appreciated.
•A notation will be included in your loved one’s selected Sunday’s bulletin, stating “An Altar bouquet this Sunday is dedicated to the memory of the name of your loved one by your name.

O thou that Tellest good tidings to Zion, arise, shine for thy light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.
On this 4th Sunday of Advent, we will be doing something a little different at Trinity: Throughout the Sunday morning worship service, there will be excerpts from the Christmas portion of George Frideric Handel’s Messiah presented by our Trinity Choir featuring soloists Cristina Trnik and Carolyn Fagerholm, Sam Grummons on brass, and accompanied by our Organ Scholar Elijah Morris and an exquisite string quartet. In my opinion, this is the best way to experience the Messiah at Christmas- through worship on a Sunday morning when you’re already at church. It’s a win-win!
Our choir is down to the final rehearsal for Christmas Eve, and it promises to be a beautiful evening. The musical prelude begins at 4:30pm, which is a great reason to come early and snag a good seat. We’ll have music presented by our choir, soloists, harp, flute, organ, brass, and cello. Combined with the warmth and reverence of our sacred and beautiful sanctuary, the sounds of Christmas at Trinity will be a truly blessed offering for the community.
I want to thank the Trinity choir for their tireless work and preparation this season. Their dedication and hearts for ministry shine through their singing, and I hope that you will take moment to thank our musicians when you see them.
I pray that you are richly blessed this Christmas!
