First Sunday in Advent

Loving God, today as we celebrate the first day of the season of Advent, I light the first candle of the Advent wreath. Let this candle be a reminder that this is a season of hope and a promise of salvation. As a single candle lights up the darkness around me, let my words and actions today reflect your light and your love. May my words be of kindness and compassion; may my actions be generous and selfless. Guide me as this journey through Advent begins.

The Grotto's Christmas Festival of Lights is underway! Open now through Dec. 30, except Christmas Day, this annual event celebrates the true meaning of Christmas with music, lights and joy.

Known as the world's largest Christmas Choral Festival, more than 150 choirs will perform over the course of 36 nights in the Chapel of Mary, with its cathedral-like acoustics. 

There are nightly puppet shows and caroling in the pavilion tent, and don't forget the millions of lights! Back by popular demand - our giant, walk-thru Christmas tree.

Grounds and Chapel: 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Gift Shop: 9 a.m. - 10 p.m.

Upper Gardens: Last admission sold at 2:30 p.m.
