Join us for worship this Sunday, November 19th as we finish going through the book of 1st Thessalonians where Paul writes to the church in Thessalonica more about the return of Christ and how they can live in hope and love. He closes his letter by reminding the community to live together in love and support and blesses them on their journey of faith.

Free Little Neighborhood Item of the Week

Free Little Neighborhood Item of the Week is clothing for cold weather.  As the temperatures begin to drop, people will need to start bringing out their cold weather clothing and you may find items you do not need anymore.  We will keep this as our item for a few weeks so please bring in socks, gloves, scarfs, jackets and more if you are able to.

Presbytery Newsletter

Being Presbyterian means we are part of a connectional church. Our local governing body is the Presbytery of East Tennessee and at the link below you can read the weekly newsletter that provides updates to events and ministries that are happening all around us. You can also sign up to get the newsletter by going to the Presbytery’s website and going to the bottom of the homepage.

Eco-friendly Holiday Practices

From the Sustainability Committee

"The most wonderful time of the year is upon us! Unfortunately, it’s also the most wasteful. Americans create 25% more waste during the holiday season, which amounts to a million extra tons of garbage every week. The food, the travel, and the gifts all end up hurting our planet." (Green Citizen)

It seems like it begins earlier every year and certainly is not appearing on the church calendar yet. However, many of us are beginning to think about the holidays and are already making purchases of gifts and decorations, as well as making travel plans. So, it is not too soon to ask- what gift will you give God's Creation as you celebrate the birth of Jesus? Protecting the environment is also a Christmas gift to your grandchildren and their grandchildren.

Please check the links below for great tips for reducing holiday waste:
