Honoring Our Legacy of Sisters
The Christine Center, a spirituality center located in Central Wisconsin, featured Sister Cecilia Corcoran in their November e-newsletter.

"As we continue to celebrate our 40th Anniversary and honor the legacy of the Sisters who have richly contributed to our history, we recently reached out to Sr. Cecilia Corcoran, FSPA, who served in the Center’s administration from 2005-2016.

Although Sr. Cecy’s contributions were many, she most notably managed the construction of the chapel wing and offices completed in 2010. Sr. Cecy loved the nature here and wanted visitors to enjoy our woodland sanctuary. This motivated her to outline a network of campus trails, which were developed by volunteers she recruited. The Center’s trails are named in her honor."

Discernment Resource: Vision Vocation Network
Vision Vocation Network, a resource of the National Religious Vocation Conference, publishes a monthly e-newsletter that we see as a valuable discernment resource.

The November issue focused on a discernment reflection, "Befriending the Grey," originally published by TrueQuest Communications. It also featured some "Questions Catholics Ask:" Why do Catholics light so many candles? Exactly how is the Pope, a human being, infallible? In this era of fake news, is it a sin to share juicy but unsubstantiated reports?
Here's an excerpt from "Befriending the Grey" and a link to the November issue.

"We inhabit a generation from which all absolutes seem to be dissolving. Institutions, from government to church to banks, have lost credibility. Truth has become privatized and debatable. This creates anxiety in folks who would prefer a checklist of things they can be sure of.

Right and wrong spelled out in no uncertain terms makes for a morally sure route through the world. That’s why Ten Commandments carved in stone are so appealing outside of courthouses. Absolutes are boundaries that promote a feeling of security - that is, if you fall on the cheerful side of their perimeters."
