I was saddened to read the announcement last week of WCU's cancellation of in-person commencement ceremonies. At the same time I am grateful for the concern our university has shown for the health and safety of our students, their families, and our community. I am so very proud of our graduating seniors and I pray that God may continue to bless you in the new chapters of your lives. In case you missed it, be sure to watch the last episode of CCM Connect of this semester, in which we interview three graduating seniors from our Peer Ministry team. They share their favorite memories from CCM, talk about their life post-graduation, and how they plan to stay active in their faith after college. And don't miss the fun slide-show at the end!
Awaiting new heavens and a new earth
Advent is a time of waiting, but for what? Waiting is easier if we know what we're waiting for. In the second reading this Sunday, St. Peter says that what what we await is "new heavens and a new earth" (2 Pt 3:13). What does the Church teach about this new heaven and earth? We take a look in this week's video reflection.
I invite students to join me online at 4pm every Sunday during Advent for a discussion of the Mass readings, as well as to just catch up. Details are below, as well as other Advent opportunities, including an online retreat with students from other campuses across our diocese. Best of all, it's free, so don't miss out!
Parking permits for the CCM lot are available for the Spring Semester for $150 on a first come, first served basis. Availability is limited so don't delay.Download the registration formtoday and mail it in with your payment.
