In Isaiah the people are advised to look to their spiritual ancestors as the rock from which they were hewn. Jesus declares that the church will be built on the rock of Peter's bold confession of faith. God's word of reconciliation and God's mercy are keys to the church's mission. Paul urges us to not be conformed to this world but to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice, using our individual gifts to build up the body of Christ. From the table we go forth to offer our spiritual worship through word and deed.

We are excited that you will be joining us for another great year of Confirmation here at Advent Lutheran Church!

Our Confirmation program is three years long, usually during the 6-8th grade years, with a three year rotation of subjects of learning about the Bible, Luther's Small Catechism, and Lifelong Discipleship. This year our focus will be on Luther's Small Catechism. You can see what all that entails and maybe refresh yourself in its teachings by clicking on catechism.cph.org.

Normally we would have dinner for each student every Sunday. Unfortunately this is not possible this year, due to health concerns. Thus we ask that each student have dinner at home before arriving to our modified meeting time of 6:00-7:30pm.  Students may also feel free to bring something to drink with them.

We know that your child(ren) will have a great amount of screen time in this pandemic. With that in mind, the church wants to meet the need for students to be with each other. We will meet in person, unless otherwise noted, on Sunday nights OUTSIDE by the back entrance. We will be socially distanced and masked/shielded in times we cannot guarantee social distancing (i.e. walking to/from restrooms, playing chimes, setting up/getting ready to go, etc). For the comfort of the student, it is strongly suggested that each student bring a lawn chair with them.

If weather does not allow us to meet outside, Pastor Aaron will let you know if we will meet via ZOOM or in person/indoors, via the https://band.us/n/afaa3ex7f3o5p link. As winter weather approaches, we will alternate weeks of in person meeting and ZOOM meeting. Winter in person meetings will take place in the Fellowship Hall, distanced, with masks/shields required.

THIS IS IMPORTANT: Please go to the following link band.us/n/afaa3ex7f3o5p. This will lead you to a website to how we are going to communicate with you this year. We are no longer using TeamSnap, as it costs money for the same thing that this service does for free. This website/app will have announcements, links, and our up-to-date calendar. You can easily reach Pastor Aaron and each other with this service as well.

In order to make sure that we have the most up to date information and to make sure that we order the correct amount of resources, please click on https://forms.gle/F7DLXu4cVYAVv6PKA and fill out the form. One form for each child.
