Moses tells the Israelites that they are called to be a priestly kingdom and a holy people. Jesus sends out the disciples as laborers into the harvest. In baptism we too are anointed for ministry, sharing God's compassion with our needy world. From the Lord's table we go forth to proclaim the good news, to heal the sick, and to share our bread with the hungry.

We want to help parents and grandparents by providing resources for teaching about God's love to youth at home.

Annual Congregational Meeting, June 14 at 11:30am via Zoom
The annual meeting for Advent Evangelical Lutheran Church usually occurs in the first two weeks of June, as our fiscal year runs from July-June.

Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic we are having our annual meeting via a Zoom Webinar so that a presentation of materials may still be made from the Church Council, elections may still take place via polling, and a budget may also be presented and voted on via polling. Questions, comments, and nominations will still be able to be taken from "the floor."

As this is an official meeting with real consequences, we are asking all who attend to be members of AdventELC and to register. For those who are not members of AdventELC you will still be able to view the meeting live on our YouTube page.

Please do not wait and register today!

Each week will PAL will host while a variety of special guests offer devotions, special-sing-a-long music, and one key verse from Scripture.

Invite others to come!
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
As we continue to move through these uncharted waters of the pandemic, it becomes more apparent that it is not possible to do Vacation Bible School (VBS) like we have in past years because of social distancing guidelines. After praying and considering many different alternatives, VBS has not been forgotten!

We will be offering a two-pronged approach: 1) Advent's VBS TOUR 2020 and 2) Virtual VBS.

1) Introducing Advent's VBS TOUR 2020!

Can we come to your driveway to share fun, smiles, and Jesus' love to your little one(s) this Summer? We don't want to miss seeing you so we've put together a simple 'driveway' devotion for our visit.
Parents, keep the door open while you take a minute (stay nearby...and fold laundry, read a book, or whatever!) or grab a lawn chair to watch or gather supplies & participate with us. You choose your level of involvement; we want to serve your whole family!
We will operate on a first come first serve basis (we'd love to get to everyone but not sure of the level of response...or our capacity ;) !).

VBS Tour Dates = Your 'stop' on the tour is intended to be 30-45 minutes and sometime between July 6th -July 31st (our leaders will communicate with you via email so we can set up when is best).
Register here for Advent's VBS TOUR 2020: Advent "VBS TOUR 2020" Registration
2) Virtual VBS will be a stay at home virtual experience called FOCUS!

Each day at 9:00a, July 20-24, there will be online content including: Bible story time, instructional craft videos, music, and maybe a suggested game. Are you not available at 900a? or are you out of town that week? No Problem! Sign up and you can participate whenever you would like to!

Christ In Our Home and Our Daily Bread Devotionals
Christ in Our Home: Email Edition With the outbreaks of coronavirus disease 2019 in North America and around the world many people may be without a physical copy of Christ in Our Home. To assist with devotional life during this time, we are offering a limited-time complementary email subscription.

Copies of both are available in the entryway on the track rack. Let any staff member know and they can get you one.
Living Lutheran Crossword
Did you know that the ELCA has a monthly magazine? It's called Living Lutheran ( https://www.livinglutheran.org). Each month features stories of living out the Christian faith with features in congregational life, voices of faith, religious news, children and family, mission and ministry, and articles on spiritual practices. Presiding Bishop Eaton also has a monthly article.

There is also a monthly crossword!
Our High School youth group members have been making phone calls to members of the congregation to check in on them, as we are all brothers and sisters in Christ.
