The Fellowship: Devotion
Apostles' Teaching
In a study many years ago, church generations were known to go through a cycle in their relationships with the Bible. Often the first generation would love the Scriptures and devour it ravenously, the second generation would see this love and assume they had it and so did everyone else in their generation so it was taken for granted, and thus neglected. By the third generation, the fruit born by a love of the Scriptures in the first generation, wasn’t seen in the second and the third generation would often dismiss the Scriptures because they mistakenly thought that their parents had devoted their lives to the Word, when in fact, the Word was neglected and untried. The fruit the third generation saw was not the fruit of their grandparents so they dismiss the Word as worthless or worse. The good news is that any generation can choose to devote themselves, through grace-driven effort, to the Word of God and experience the fruit of knowing and living in light of the God of the Universe and the Kingdom the Gospel brings to bear on this world.
Daily Prayers, a Digging Deeper guide and coordinating Life Group Curriculum will be available each week on Sunday to further explore The Fellowship Sermon Series. You can find those resources (and for all of our other sermon series) HERE or at the Welcome Center on Sunday.

Missions in May
Each Wednesday in May, join us in the Friendship Center at 5:30pm. Dinner is provided! Each week has a slightly different missions focus and we are excited to explore this with you!
Please read the descriptions below, check your calendars and plan to come to as many as you can! If you can pre-register for these evenings HERE we would greatly appreciate it. Registration helps us to be prepared to make these events successful. If youth is attending on May 18th there is a second waiver form that you'll be linked to at the end of the registration. Thanks!
The second Wednesday, May 11th, was focused on
"We are Missionaries"!
After a quick briefing, we headed out around town for a video scavenger hunt while learning about quite a few local outreach ministries. Groups watched videos about the ministries, spent time praying for them, and snapped a photo at each location. It was a blessing to learn about local outreach opportunities and pray together for our community.

The third Wednesday, May 18th, is focused on
"I am a Missionary"!
Come to Adventure for a lovely meal and some time of fellowship. Join as we explore what it means to be called here in our own places. We will have a short message and then you will be given secret missions to go out and accomplish with your family or small group.
The last Wednesday, May 25th, is the Mazatlan Chili Cookoff!
Do you like to cook, eat or compete? You won’t want to miss the long awaited return of our chili cook off! You’ll be able to purchase tickets to vote on the best entries and the proceeds go directly to our sister church in Mazatlan. Bring your appetites and hear the updates on what’s been happening in Mexico the past few years! If you want to enter your chili, make sure to sign up at the Welcome Center or contact Tanya!

TOP TO BOTTOM FLOORING UPDATE
We are hoping to move forward with the last two phases this summer!
We've raised a little over $70,000 already for the flooring, and the remaining balance left to complete this project is just a little over $14,000! So close!
We just purchased all the remaining supplies for the next (and last) two phases of this project. We wanted to do this before material cost went up further or the material we have chosen was no longer available. We are excited that the generous donations so far were able to cover this option! We are looking forward to raising the last $14,000 so that we can hopefully schedule the removal of the old carpeting, and installation of the new sometime this summer when the building doesn’t have as much daily use. We are celebrating how far we’ve come and excited for what’s next!
To partner with us in reaching our goal and stewarding the care of our building, you can give at www.faithadventure.com/give and put "top to bottom" in the memo section.

Muffins for Moms Reflection shared from Callie:
|
|
Often times our kids in church are referred to as the "next generation" or "future leaders". While that's true that they will be leading us in the future, we cannot forget the integral role that each child plays in our church community here and now! This past Sunday I was blessed to see kids serving their church family by reminding the women in our congregation of how much they are loved and appreciated. Muffins for Moms was a fun way for our church family to spend time together, and a special way for our kids to serve. Seeing the way that each and every child participated was a lovely reminder that it doesn't matter how young or old we are, we all play an important role in the church body.

If you have stories of God's goodness from this past year, big or small, hit reply to this email and send them our way. We would love to hear them, pray in praise over them and talk to you about sharing them.
To spur your thoughts to God's goodness start by asking yourself these questions:
What Good have you witnessed recently?
What Good has God brought into your life?
What Good has God prompted you to do for one another?
