Division Sermon Series

Responses to the Gospel often bring division because its message of grace confronts our self-righteousness, calls us to repentance, and proclaims truth that is exclusive. This naturally separates those who humbly submit to Christ from those who refuse to do so. Even among believers, differences in interpretation, priorities, sin, or misplaced motives can lead to conflict and disunity within the Body. Jesus knew His message would divide, yet He consistently taught that love is the pathway to true unity in Him.

Join us as we follow Paul and Barnabas on their missionary journey and observe the varied responses to the Gospel they encountered. As we study these passages, may we examine our own hearts with humility and honesty—recognizing where division may exist within us—and seek unity in Christ through His mercy and love.

Sunday, January 11th: Introduction

Jesus made it clear that His Gospel of the Kingdom would bring division—fracturing communities, churches, and even families. Yet He also offered a greater hope: true unity found in Him alone. This week, we begin a new sermon series examining the roots of division in our world and how the way of Jesus leads us toward unity in our world.

Daily Prayers, Digging Deeper Guide and coordinating Life Group Curriculum are available each week on Sunday to further explore this Sermon Series. You can find those resources (for this week and ALL previous weeks) HERE or at the Welcome Center on Sunday.

This week in Adventure:Kids we learn that God made a way for His people to be saved. He parted the Red Sea so that His people could live. By sending Jesus, God made the way for us to be saved from our sin. We can trust Him and be thankful.

Adventure:Equip Winter Session

New Classes begin THIS Sunday, January 11th, 9:00am-9:40am

Adventure: Equip is how we seek to dig in further to learning and practicing what we believe. These classes aim to prioritize understanding the Word, our theological beliefs, and spiritual practices. Our aim is not just to understand more, but study together and practice alongside one another so that our lives can be transformed. From those just beginning their adventure with Jesus to those that have traveled far with Him, there is a place for you here as we seek to be more like Jesus and become a stronger Biblical community.

There are four classes in total coming for our Winter Launch, a kids class and three classes for adults and teens. Here's a quick rundown of those classes, but check out more details on our website HERE! Questions? Email Us!

"Weekly Sermons" Led by Kim & Taco Young in the Conference Room

"Psalms Study" Led by Tish & Steve Holmes in Room 104

"Confirmation Class" Led by Jennifer & CJ Young in the Worship Center Classroom

Adventure:Equip KIDS Led by Ed & Kristen Walls downstairs in the Adventurers Classroom

Confirmation Class

During Equip Time from January 11th-March 29th

We believe that people cannot get a firm foundation in what they believe without testing their beliefs to see which ones are flimsy and which ones hold up. They also cannot test their beliefs without first looking at what those beliefs are and where they come from. This is what Confirmation Class is all about: investigating what it is you believe and where those beliefs come from so that you can declare boldly what you believe, why you believe it, and what that means for how you live your life.

Who should come to Confirmation Class?

Any student in 6th grade or above who wants to investigate their beliefs about the Christian faith. (An adult can come if they are interested in investigating their new faith, but this is geared more towards youth.)

What is the Goal of Confirmation Class?

The goal of Confirmation class is discipleship. Discipleship is the process of transforming us to look like Christ over a lifetime. Confirmation is a key transition time for young people as they move from holding their parents' beliefs to forming their own. This will be a time where the foundations of the Christian faith are shared, along with where these foundations come from, and then they will be discussed and engaged with so that the participants can come to their own conclusions about our faith.

This section is a weekly reminder that God is Good!

He is good to us every single day & we will praise His name!

Our Church Leadership consisting of Staff, Elders, and Deacons will be gathering this Friday and Saturday for their annual Leadership Retreat. God is so good in allowing us this space to be together, pray in abundance, grow in the Lord, and look forward to what God is doing in us and the life of our church. Please be praying for our church leadership as they participate in the retreat this weekend! God is Good!

This space in the newsletter is a small way we continue to celebrate the goodness of God all year long, and practice being aware of His presence in our lives. So, if you have stories of God's goodness big or small, hit reply to this email and send them our way. We would love to hear them, pray in praise over them and talk to you about sharing them.

To spur thoughts on God's goodness, consider asking yourself these questions:

What Good have you witnessed recently?

What Good has God brought into your life?

What Good has God prompted you to do for one another?

God is Good!!
