Advent Sermon Series
The Christmas season is often filled with activity- fun events, gatherings with friends, family traditions, and even frantic shopping for those last-minute gifts. In the midst of all of this busyness, Christ followers remember that this is the season when God Himself came into the world in order to save it. We worship, we sing praise, we reflect and respond to this reality. Yet before we do any of these things, we must first seek to settle our minds and calm our hearts that we might truly behold our Savior. This Advent season, we seek to put that which is of first importance truly first: appreciating our Savior, embodied in a baby, born to redeem the world. Join us this season as we seek to earnestly Behold Him.
Sunday, November 30th: Faithful in Jesus
As Paul and his companions set sail on their missionary journey, they are given a powerful opportunity to share the Good News of Jesus Christ, and Paul rises to the occasion by proclaiming God’s unwavering faithfulness- faithfulness shown most clearly in the sending of His Son to save the world. Join us as we begin this Advent season by celebrating the faithfulness of God we see in the coming of Jesus, our Savior.”

Daily Prayers, Digging Deeper Guide and coordinating Life Group Curriculum are available each week on Sunday to further explore this Sermon Series. You can find those resources (for this week and ALL previous weeks) HERE or at the Welcome Center on Sunday.
Advent Specific Resources:
If you want to know all about Advent and what to expect at Adventure this Advent season, check out the "Looking Forward to Advent" Packet! (Paper copies available at the church.) Or check out our website HERE for all things Advent. Also, make sure to check out the Resource Wall if you are looking for a new book or study for this season!

Advent Take-Home Kits are available to pick up this Sunday! These kits include an Advent Paper Chain countdown -- as you take off a paper ring each day, participate in that day's prompt that is printed on the inside of the ring. The take-home activity this year was created to help make space for us to lean into our theme this year, to pare back the "stuff" and simply Behold Him. These daily prompts and prayers can be done on your own or with those in your household. If you aren't able to pick up a take-home kit from the church, you can use the printable copy of these prompts HERE to cut out and make your own paper chain.
A Candle Lighting Devotional is also available for pick up on Sunday or find it HERE if you have decided to do an Advent Wreath at home and would like to use this resource to accompany your weekly candle lightings.

Adventure:Kids News
This Sunday in Adventure:Kids, we learn that because of Pharaoh’s hard heart, Egypt suffered but God’s people were saved. Because of Jesus’ loving heart, He willingly suffered on the cross so we could be saved from sin.
We can't wait to see you this Sunday!
Sermon notes and challenges for families are available on the Adventure:Kids Facebook page, OR click here for a pdf version.

Sunday, December 7th, 14th, and 21st (NOT THIS SUNDAY) in the Cafe at 9:00am

Join us to dig into these challenges alongside others. This is an opportunity to engage these resources in community, and a chance to participate during a time you may already have blocked off during your week! We will have supplies available. Let's Do Lunch
Thursday, December 11th, 11:30am-1:30pm at Amelia's Hanger 8834 State Route 3 SW, Bremerton, WA
This is our Christmas luncheon. Come celebrate our Savior's birth with us. Let's show people that Christians really are happy because of God's love, not because of the gifts we get, the decorations on the tree or the size of our Christmas bonus! This group is for older adults to enjoy conversation, deepening relationships, delicious food, and sharing together! Join our group for some conversation, laughs and good food. It's a great time to get to know people better. For questions or to RSVP, please text/call 360-443-2206, or email Marilyn.

Holiday Food Baskets & Giving Tree
The Outreach and Deacon teams are partnering together this year to provide food baskets and gifts for those in need in our church and community. If you would like to support this ministry, you can be a part of it in several ways:
Participate in the Giving Tree: Giving Tree tags are available NOW! If you are interested in filling a gift for a child this year, pick a tag from the tree and make sure to sign your name on the clipboard with which gift tag number you chose. Or contribute to the Giving Tree fund so we can collaboratively get presents for tags that need filling. (There is a "Giving Tree" fund in the drop down menu on our giving page, or write "giving tree" in the memo line for checks).
Donate to Baskets: Donate to the Christmas Basket Fund, by visiting our Giving Page and selecting that fund from the drop down menu. The estimated cost for a food basket this year is $150, but any amount is helpful! Please write "food basket" in the memo line for checks.
Give: We are collecting specific non-perishable, non-expired food items for the Christmas Baskets. Sign up to bring items we are requesting this Sunday on the clipboards that will go around service. Thank you!
Volunteer: We will be wrapping presents on Wednesday, December 10th at BaseCamp and anyone is welcome to join us!
Thank you for helping us care for our community this holiday season!

This section is a weekly reminder that God is Good!
He is good to us every single day & we will praise His name!
| | Wow! What an amazing turn out for the Adventure:Kids Movie afternoon and Advent Decorating evening! Many hands really does make light work... but it didn't even feel like work in the joyful chaos, fun, and fellowship that was dinner and decorating. Thank you to all who came, thank you for being a part of this Adventure family, thank you for welcoming our kids to be a part of it alongside us, thank you for letting it feel like a family. (If things look a little joyfully and festively overdone, just remember our kids were a huge part of this -- and we LOVE that, and love that they get to be excited about being a part of what we do here!). God is good! Thanks for kicking off this season with us, we are looking forward to seeing all God is going to do this season! | |
This space in the newsletter is a small way we continue to celebrate the goodness of God all year long, and practice being aware of His presence in our lives. So, if you have stories of God's goodness big or small, hit reply to this email and send them our way. We would love to hear them, pray in praise over them and talk to you about sharing them.
To spur your thoughts to God's goodness start by asking yourself these questions:
What Good have you witnessed recently?
What Good has God brought into your life?
What Good has God prompted you to do for one another?
God is Good!!
