Faith Works Sermon Series
For James, faith works. Our faith is not merely an intellectual or emotional endeavor but one that involves movement and practice. Lent is a season of reflection and spiritual experience. During Lent, historically, we practice spiritual disciplines that focus us on Christ that they might develop us into becoming more like Christ.
For Lent this year, we want to reorient our hearts and minds on Jesus by taking a note from James in developing a faith that works.
Sunday, March 23: Devoted/Devout
We talk often at Adventure of Faith about the early church and its devotion to spiritual disciplines (Acts 2:42). We know that we don’t accidentally fall into the devout life of a disciple. To be a serious disciple of Jesus Christ, it takes discipline, devotion, energy, and effort. Our desire as followers of Christ is that one day, when we see Him again, He will tell us, “Well done, good and faithful servant,” for the way we’ve reflected Him during our earthly lives. Devotion is an intentional practice of working that reorients our hearts, minds, hands, and lives and allows space for the Spirit to build a devout life, given completely over to God.

Daily Prayers, Digging Deeper Guide and coordinating Life Group Curriculum are available each week on Sunday to further explore this Sermon Series. You can find those resources (for this week and ALL previous weeks) HERE or at the Welcome Center on Sunday.
LENT IS HERE! Check out our Resource Wall for books and study suggestions, and grab a Weekly Wondering Kit on Sunday.
| | Much like our Advent Calendars, Weekly Wondering Kits contain short daily prompts and activities to help us engage the season and sermon themes for each week. Make sure to pick one up each Sunday at church! | |
Adventure:Kids News
This Sunday in Adventure:Kids, they will begin a new unit and learn about Paul’s journey to Jerusalem, where he courageously shared the gospel despite facing danger and false accusations. They’ll be encouraged to follow God’s call with the same confidence, knowing that God will take care of them too.
Key Passage: "Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago." -Isaiah 25:1
We can't wait to see you this Sunday!
Sermon notes and challenges for families are available on the Adventure:Kids Facebook page, OR click here for a pdf version.

Adventure:Equip
Sundays at 9:00am
Adventure: Equip is how we seek to dig in further to learning and practicing what we believe. These classes aim to prioritize understanding the Word, our theological beliefs, and spiritual practices. Our aim is not just to understand more, but study together and practice alongside one another so that our lives can be transformed.
Join us for our special Lent Equip class that all are invited to in the Worship Center Classroom. This class will include some art appreciation/education as we work our way through some of the art pieces featured in Sister Wendy Beckett’s wonderful devotional, “The Art of Lent.” There will be videos, some basic art appreciation instruction, a devotional, some discussion, and even coloring pages for us to really soak in this Lenten season. We hope you (and your kids/families) will join us! 9:00 am on Sunday Mornings during Lent.

Passover Dinner
Wednesday, April 2nd at 5:30pm
Passover is known as a celebration of freedom. Traditionally, Jews celebrate the freedom that was given to the Israelite people through the rescuing from enslavement in Egypt. As Christians, we can celebrate freedom in this story from long ago, and also the freedom from sin, death, and oppressive powers of the present evil age given to us through Jesus' death and resurrection. The same God who freed the Israelites from Egypt sent His Son to rescue us from sin, and the Holy Spirit to actively battle evil in this world today. He is worthy of our praise, so let us celebrate freedom together!
Passover is an interactive experience, it immerses us in Jewish traditions and culture while we pray, eat, worship, and celebrate. Plan to learn, eat good food, drink a lot of grape juice, and enjoy great company. We hope that this experience will also help you prepare to possibly host your own Passover dinner.
We look forward to celebrating Passover with you!
PLEASE REGISTER FOR THIS EVENT HERE.

This section is a weekly reminder that God is Good!
He is good to us every single day & we will praise His name!
| |
Let's Do Lunch met yesterday at the church for their game and potluck time. It was lovely to have them all at the church, see the liveliness of their conversations and we appreciated how many stopped into the office to say hi and chat for a few. Our church functions and fellowships in so many different ways, and this was such a cool way our older crowd expresses that together.
God is Good!

This space in the newsletter is a small way we continue to celebrate the goodness of God all year long, and practice being aware of His presence in our lives. So, if you have stories of God's goodness big or small, hit reply to this email and send them our way. We would love to hear them, pray in praise over them and talk to you about sharing them.
To spur your thoughts to God's goodness start by asking yourself these questions:
What Good have you witnessed recently?
What Good has God brought into your life?
What Good has God prompted you to do for one another?
God is Good!!
