"Know that the Lord, he is God!

    It is he who made us, and we are his;

we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving,

    and his courts with praise!

Give thanks to him; bless his name!

For the Lord is good;

    his steadfast love endures forever,

and his faithfulness to all generations."

- Psalm 100

Sermon Series: The Road

Philip, an Ethiopian Eunich, the book of Isaiah, a desert road... this is hardly the setting for a significant movement of the Holy Spirit, but God often does not work in ways that make sense to us. In this series, four Adventure of Faith staff members will share how one Spirit, through one story, spoke into their lives in individual and unexpected ways. We invite you to join us as we journey down "The Road."

Track 4: Willing and Obedient

Sunday, November 26th

Often times we don’t get to see all the fruit of what God does through our obedience to Him. Isaiah had no way of knowing the long lasting impact of the words God gave him to speak, for an Ethiopian Eunuch and Philip on a road, for others and for us. Philip didn’t know what God was going to do when he called him to a desert place or told him to go to the chariot. How can we be like Isaiah and Philip and be willing and obedient to God knowing He works in and through people even when it is hard or we don’t understand?

Daily Prayers, Digging Deeper Guide and coordinating Life Group Curriculum are available each week on Sunday to further explore this Sermon Series. You can find those resources (for this week and ALL previous weeks) HERE or at the Welcome Center on Sunday.

Adventure:Kids News

This Sunday in Adventure:Kids, the kids will be breaking away from their normal Sunday curriculum to spend time focusing on the birth of Jesus for the Christmas season. This week they will be learning about how the prophets were told about Jesus and how everything God said about Jesus' birth came true.

Key Passage: "When the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship". Galatians 4:4-5

We can't wait to see you this Sunday!

Sermon notes and challenges for families are available on the Adventure:Kids Facebook page, OR click here for a pdf version...

Advent is coming!

For us, Advent begins in darkness- not a complete and utter darkness- but a palpable one. During Advent the themes of light and darkness are front and center. Within the Advent wreath are candles that generally represent the four weeks of the Advent season as well as the light of God coming into the world through the birth of Jesus Christ. Slowly darkness fades as more candles are lit with each passing week. Let us take time to praise the Lord! The Sunrise has visited us to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, guide our feet into the way of peace.

Senegal Mission Team

Our Senegal Mission team has spent the last couple of days in the village of Sorokogne catching up with those we know there, praying for those who have asked (which is so cool!), having some meetings with the health clinic and women of the village, and handing out the Days for Girls Kits. They've also gotten to visit Bethesda school this week and spend time with the children and teachers. Thank you for continuing to pray for members of the team, their families at home, the relationships they are building in Senegal, and safe travels in counry! If you'd like to pray specifically for the team, check out this PDF of the Team Prayer Requests they put together before they left. If you are interested in getting the most current updates from the team, send Sam an email and she'll add you to the update list. Otherwise watch for a few updates here in the newsletter!

Adventure Finances

If you're interested in current church finances,

see our October & Year-to-Date graphics included above here.

Adventure of Faith is a very generous community of believers.

I know this because whenever we communicate a need, we meet it.

As it is Thanksgiving week, I'll share what makes me so grateful. Well, maybe just a couple of things I'm grateful for. I am grateful for this church, my church co-workers, this job that I greatly love, serving an amazing church family.

I am grateful for the incredible generosity of this church family who have consistently answered the call to support Adventure with their time, talents and treasure to do that which we are called to do according to our Mission, Vision and Values. Thank you.

Next week I'll answer a financial question for you. Please continue to send your Adventure-related financial questions to me HERE.

This section is a weekly reminder that God is Good!

He is good to us every single day & we will praise His name!

Our God is Good moment shared from our Operation Christmas Child Coordinator and Deacon, Carla Crawford:

Operation Christmas Child 2023 was a great success! We collected 2,026 shoeboxes this year compared to 1,395 in 2022. Thank you to the many volunteers who donated their time during collection week and packed shoeboxes for our record breaking year. With your help, the love and message of Jesus will be spread around the world during the Christmas season and beyond.

(FYI, 2,026 shoeboxes were packed into 136 cartons. Volunteers covered a combined total of 102 hours during collection week).

Amazing! God is Good!

This space in the newsletter is a small way we continue to celebrate the goodness of God all year long, and practice being aware of His presence in our lives. So, if you have stories of God's goodness big or small, hit reply to this email and send them our way. We would love to hear them, pray in praise over them and talk to you about sharing them.

To spur your thoughts to God's goodness start by asking yourself these questions:

What Good have you witnessed recently?

What Good has God brought into your life?

What Good has God prompted you to do for one another?

God is Good!!
