Wisdom Sermon Series
In the Bible there is this invisible creative force in the universe that guides people in how they should live. You can’t see it, just like you can’t see the wind, but it affects everything you do. The Hebrew word for this force is hokhmah, which is often translated as wisdom and it is an attribute of God demonstrated when He created the world. It is woven into the fabric of things and how they work in this world. When we make good, just, or wise decisions, we are tapping into this force, this hokhmah. During this series, we will continue to work through James chapter 3, now switching to a discussion on wisdom, this invisible force rooted in God Himself.
Sunday, May 18: Earthly Wisdom
Wisdom is like art, difficult to describe but we know it when we see it. In our world often knowledge or intelligence masquerades as wisdom. Biblically speaking, wisdom is rooted in God Himself and is an understanding and a skill set put to work in ones life. This week we will be looking at these theme in the Scriptures and how our earthly understanding of wisdom is quite different than our biblical understanding of it.
| | Daily Prayers, Digging Deeper Guide and coordinating Life Group Curriculum are available each week on Sunday to further explore this Sermon Series. You can find those resources (for this week and ALL previous weeks) HERE or at the Welcome Center on Sunday. | |
Adventure:Kids News
This week in Adventure:Kids, the children will learn how Paul continued to boldly share the good news of Jesus, even while under house arrest in Rome. They’ll discover that no matter the circumstances, the message of Jesus brings hope and salvation to all who believe.
Key Passage: "Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago." - Isaiah 25:1
We can't wait to see you this Sunday!
Sermon notes and challenges for families are available on the Adventure:Kids Facebook page, OR click here for a pdf version.

Adventure:Equip
Sunday at 9:00am
Adventure: Equip is how we seek to dig in further to learning and practicing what we believe. These classes aim to prioritize understanding the Word, our theological beliefs, and spiritual practices. Our aim is not just to understand more, but study together and practice alongside one another so that our lives can be transformed. From those just beginning their adventure with Jesus to those that have traveled far with Him, there is a place for you here as we seek to be more like Jesus and become a stronger Biblical community. Find the Spring session classes offered HERE! Questions? Email Us!

This section is a weekly reminder that God is Good!
He is good to us every single day & we will praise His name!
| | In collaboration with Headstoners, a local grave-tending business, we had the opportunity to participate in a community service event on May 10th at Sedgwick Cemetery as part of our Missions in May focus. We invited our youth, congregation, and neighbors to join us in caring for this sacred space. | |
This space in the newsletter is a small way we continue to celebrate the goodness of God all year long, and practice being aware of His presence in our lives. So, if you have stories of God's goodness big or small, hit reply to this email and send them our way. We would love to hear them, pray in praise over them and talk to you about sharing them.
To spur your thoughts to God's goodness start by asking yourself these questions:
What Good have you witnessed recently?
What Good has God brought into your life?
What Good has God prompted you to do for one another?
God is Good!!
