Sermon Series: The Road

Philip, an Ethiopian Eunich, the book of Isaiah, a desert road... this is hardly the setting for a significant movement of the Holy Spirit, but God often does not work in ways that make sense to us. In this series, four Adventure of Faith staff members will share how one Spirit, through one story, spoke into their lives in individual and unexpected ways. We invite you to join us as we journey down "The Road."

Track 3: Sharing the Good News

Sunday, November 19

As we continue to revisit the story of Philip and the Ethiopian Eunuch meeting on the desert road, we'll explore who these men were and the implications of their culture and background. God called them to meet in this space, the Holy Spirit moved in their hearts, and they were commissioned by Jesus to spread the Good News of the Gospel to the ends of the earth. No matter who we are or where we come from, our commission is the same, and the promise from God to be with us to the end of the ages is extended to all who know Him.

Daily Prayers, Digging Deeper Guide and coordinating Life Group Curriculum are available each week on Sunday to further explore this Sermon Series. You can find those resources (for this week and ALL previous weeks) HERE or at the Welcome Center on Sunday.

Adventure:Kids News

This Sunday in Adventure:Kids, the kids will start Unit 25: The Warnings of Jesus, this week learning about how people welcomed Jesus as King (Matthew 21, Mark 11, Luke 19, and John 12). Jesus is the Savior God promised. We can look forward to the day when Jesus will come again, not as King on a donkey, but as King on a white horse.

New Key Passage: "The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your fellow Israelites. You must listen to him." - Deuteronomy 18:15

We can't wait to see you this Sunday!

Sermon notes and challenges for families are available on the Adventure:Kids Facebook page, OR click here for a pdf version...

Advent is coming!

Advent Decorating Evening, November 26th at 6:00pm

Advent Worship & Tree Lighting Kick-Off Event, Nov 29th

For us, Advent begins in darkness- not a complete and utter darkness- but a palpable one. During Advent the themes of light and darkness are front and center. Within the Advent wreath are candles that generally represent the four weeks of the Advent season as well as the light of God coming into the world through the birth of Jesus Christ. Slowly darkness fades as more candles are lit with each passing week. Let us take time to praise the Lord! The Sunrise has visited us to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, guide our feet into the way of peace.

If you'd like to help us prepare for this season, join us Sunday, November 26th in the evening at 6:00pm as we decorate the church in preparation for the season. Kids are welcome to attend and a pizza dinner will be provided. If you are planning to participate of have any questions, please let Sam know!

We hope you'll join us Wednesday, November 29th as we have our Advent Worship & Tree Lighting Kick-off Event to celebrate the joy and wonder of this season. We invite everyone to bring a dish to share in a potluck style dinner in the Friendship Center. Doors open at 5:30pm, we'll have dinner together promptly at 5:45pm, and then we'll move down to the Worship Center at 6:30pm as we welcome in the Advent season with worship, a tree lighting, cocoa, and fellowship! Our Advent boxes with activities, prayers, and devotional materials to engage the season and draw us closer to Jesus, will start being handed out at this event.

Don't worry if you haven't heard of some of these yet...

put them on your radar and know more details are coming!

This section is a weekly reminder that God is Good!

He is good to us every single day & we will praise His name!

Adventure Youth was able to gather to watch a movie, eat pizza and snacks, and enjoy each other's company. This was an opportunity for our youth to have some fun in a safe space, surrounded by peers and adults who love them. Various adults helped make this happen by donating snacks, setting up the space, making popcorn, picking up pizzas, and helping clean up. Our teens jumped in to help clean up, and they did so joyfully! We’re grateful for our Adventure community showing the teens that they matter to us and are an important part of our church family!

This space in the newsletter is a small way we continue to celebrate the goodness of God all year long, and practice being aware of His presence in our lives. So, if you have stories of God's goodness big or small, hit reply to this email and send them our way. We would love to hear them, pray in praise over them and talk to you about sharing them.

To spur your thoughts to God's goodness start by asking yourself these questions:

What Good have you witnessed recently?

What Good has God brought into your life?

What Good has God prompted you to do for one another?

God is Good!!
