Division Sermon Series
Responses to the Gospel often bring division because its message of grace confronts our self-righteousness, calls us to repentance, and proclaims truth that is exclusive. This naturally separates those who humbly submit to Christ from those who refuse to do so. Even among believers, differences in interpretation, priorities, sin, or misplaced motives can lead to conflict and disunity within the Body. Jesus knew His message would divide, yet He consistently taught that love is the pathway to true unity in Him.
Join us as we follow Paul and Barnabas on their missionary journey and observe the varied responses to the Gospel they encountered. As we study these passages, may we examine our own hearts with humility and honesty—recognizing where division may exist within us—and seek unity in Christ through His mercy and love.
Sunday, February 15th: Resilience
Paul and Barnabas arrive in Iconium and continue boldly preaching the Gospel, only to be met with sharply divided responses. While many believe, others reject the message with hostility and violence. Join us this week as we examine Paul’s remarkable resilience and faithfulness in the face of intense opposition—and what it means for us to remain steadfast.

Recently, we handed out copies of our Annual Report for 2025. If you would like to look through it, a digital copy is available HERE. Paper copies are available at the Welcome Center. Please look through this document that celebrates all that God has done in and through Adventure of Faith this past year.
If you have any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to reach out by EMAIL.
| Daily Prayers, Digging Deeper Guide and coordinating Life Group Curriculum are available each week on Sunday to further explore this Sermon Series. You can find those resources (for this week and ALL previous weeks) HERE or at the Welcome Center on Sunday. | |

This Sunday in Adventure:Kids, we learn that the people chose to worship a golden calf instead of God. Moses interceded so that God would forgive them. We are all sinners, but Jesus interceded for us through His life, death, and resurrection so we can be saved!
"There is no one holy like the Lord; there is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God."
-1 Samuel 2:2
We can't wait to see you this Sunday!

LAST SUNDAY of Adventure:Equip Winter Session
This Sunday 9:00am-9:40am
Adventure: Equip is how we seek to dig in further to learning and practicing what we believe. These classes aim to prioritize understanding the Word, our theological beliefs, and spiritual practices. Our aim is not just to understand more, but study together and practice alongside one another so that our lives can be transformed.
There will be a Self-Guided Equip opportunity for the Lenten season that will include interactive and reflective elements available at the church on Sunday mornings... more info about that next week! Confirmation Class for those teens already participating will continue throughout the Lenten season.

Ash Wednesday Service
Wednesday, February 18th at 6:00pm
Join us in observing the beginning of Lent with our Ash Wednesday service done in the way we feel God calling us to: as an Adventure family, humbly seeking to honor Jesus and rest in Him alongside one another. This service will have roots in liturgical greetings, prayers, and other traditional participatory practices like the marking of ashes. We don’t observe these prayers and practices as rituals, but as worshipful opportunities to connect with the Lord and with one another.

Lent Starts Next Week!
Lent is the waiting season leading up to Easter when we remember and celebrate Jesus' death and resurrection -- and that season starts on February 18th. During this season at Adventure we have the unique opportunity to participate with what God is already doing by reorienting our hearts and minds on Him, often by considering our lives and practices in light of Jesus' sacrifice. Many choose to fast from something, but our hope isn't in just giving something up, but that in our fasting we might turn to and depend more on God. In the upcoming weeks we will start sharing how we can engage this as a church with our weekly opportunities and take-home materials. But we also encourage you to prepare for the season in ways that you feel prompted.
There is a "Looking Forward to Lent" packet available HERE.
Like Advent, Lent is a devoted season in which we have opportunities to lean in together throughout the week. The take-home materials and resources available are to support you, and whoever may be participating with you, in drawing closer to Jesus throughout this season. This packet will give you an intro to what Lent is and what you can expect at Adventure during this season. Our take home resources will be available this Sunday, and the daily prompts included in those resources start on Ash Wed! (But this year is very flexible, if you can't start on time, it is still worth starting later!) Online versions of these resources will also be available on our website and app on Sunday.
The Resource Wall is also still available and updated for the season ahead if you are looking for alternate resources for you or your family!

This section is a weekly reminder that God is Good!
He is good to us every single day & we will praise His name!

This God is Good reflection is shared from our Next Gen & Outreach Director, Jennifer:
At the end of January, we had the joy of hosting Sweets and Strings, a fundraising event for the South Kitsap High School Symphony Booster Club. For the past year, the leadership at Adventure of Faith has felt called to lean in and intentionally support our local schools, so when this opportunity arose, we eagerly said yes.
Our Outreach Department prepared 16 beautiful charcuterie boards with the help of a small but mighty team who assembled them. An even smaller group stayed to host, filling water pitchers, making coffee, and kindly directing wandering students. In the kitchen, some of our youth leaders served side by side, building relationships not only with each other but also with a few of our teens in a new and meaningful setting.
The evening was filled with lovely music. Over 100 guests attended, and nearly 70 students performed throughout the night. The booster club board was genuinely surprised that we would open our building, provide food and beverages, help set up and decorate...all at no cost.
As I reflect on that night, I feel deeply blessed. To see the building and resources God has entrusted to us used to bless and surprise our neighbors was a beautiful reminder: God is indeed good.

This space in the newsletter is a small way we continue to celebrate the goodness of God all year long, and practice being aware of His presence in our lives. So, if you have stories of God's goodness big or small, hit reply to this email and send them our way. We would love to hear them, pray in praise over them and talk to you about sharing them.
To spur thoughts on God's goodness, consider asking yourself these questions:
What Good have you witnessed recently?
What Good has God brought into your life?
What Good has God prompted you to do for one another?
God is Good!!
