Sunday, April 20, Easter: Faith Works

HE IS RISEN! (He is risen indeed!). We hope you will join us for this Easter Sunday, where we will celebrate the resurrection of our Savior. We will be concluding our Lenten series talking about how James' belief that faith works is because faith actually works! What Jesus said He accomplished in his life, death, and resurrection actually was accomplished, and now we live life in light of the reality that our sin is forgiven, our eternity is secure, our Messiah is King, and His Kingdom reigns! Praise be to God!

Daily Prayers, Digging Deeper Guide and coordinating Life Group Curriculum are available each week on Sunday to further explore this Sermon Series. You can find those resources (for this week and ALL previous weeks) HERE or at the Welcome Center on Sunday.

Adventure:Kids News

HE IS RISEN! This Sunday in Adventure:Kids, the kids will learn the Easter story, how Jesus died on the cross and rose again to rescue us from sin. They'll see that because Jesus is alive, we can have hope, forgiveness, and eternal life with Him.

Key Passage: “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

- 2 Chronicles 7:14

We can't wait to see you this Sunday!

Sermon notes and challenges for families are available on the Adventure:Kids Facebook page, OR click here for a pdf version.

Holy Week

Please consider coming to any or all of these services and experiences and inviting friends, neighbors, and family to join us. We can’t wait to reflect on the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus in all the ways the focus of this holy week call us to. Join us in praying expectantly for the ways God will draw us to himself through these opportunities.

Maundy Thursday Dinner Service

Thursday, April 17th at 6:00pm

“Maundy” stems from a Latin word meaning commandment and correlates to the evening Jesus washed the disciples feet and celebrated the Last Supper with his disciples. Join us for an experiential service, including optional foot washing stations, dinner, scripture readings following the night, and participatory communion as we focus on Jesus' command to love one another. Kids are welcome and there are some interactive pieces for them, however it is aimed at being a more reflective service. There will be an at-home version of this service for those that want to join us a different way! If you can give us a heads up that you are planning to attend Maundy Thursday Dinner Service we'd love a rough headcount for planning, CLICK HERE TO LET US KNOW, but also, if you decide to join us last minute, please do!

Good Friday Experience

Friday, April 18th from 4:00pm-7:00pm

& after Good Friday Service

This is the day we commemorate the crucifixion and death of Jesus.

Our Good Friday is focused on Jesus's last Steps toward the Cross. Join us if you'd like to explore, experience, and reflect more fully on the importance of this night and on the suffering of Christ as we journey with him to the cross. There are interactive elements and reflective prompts to walk through on your own, with a friend, or with your family. This is a great opportunity for kids to participate... help them experience this and explain the parts as you go! This experience will be held in the Friendship Center, and there will be booklets and clear signage to help you navigate each step of the way. Expect this experience to take about 30-45 minutes, and you are welcome to do it at any point in the three hours it is open, or after the Good Friday service.

Good Friday Service

Friday, April 18th at 7:00pm

This is the day we commemorate the crucifixion and death of Jesus.

Join us for this reflective service as we travel from the Garden to the Cross. This service includes an experiential aspect of lights dimming, and opportunities for kids to engage as we progress throughout the night.

This service will be broadcast live, but due to the participatory nature of this service, and the lights dimming as the service progresses, our livestream will be simple and likely more listening along than watching at times. Kids are welcome at this service, and we have intentional ways for them to participate with us as the lights dim.

From those just beginning their adventure with Jesus to those that have traveled far with Him, there is a place for you here as we seek to be more like Jesus and become a stronger Biblical community.

There are five classes you can participate in this Spring Session, a kids class and four classes for adults and teens. CHECK OUT THE DETAILS FOR SPRING CLASS OPTIONS HERE! Questions? Email Us!

A Prayer for Holy Week by Henri J.M. Nouwen

"Dear Lord, your disciple Peter wanted to know who would betray you. You pointed to Judas but a little later also to him. Judas betrayed, Peter denied you. Judas hanged himself, Peter became the apostle whom you made the first among equals. Lord, give me faith, faith in your endless mercy, your boundless forgiveness, your unfathomable goodness. Let me not be tempted to think that my sins are too great to be forgiven, too abominable to be touched by your mercy. Let me never run away from you but return to you again and again, asking you to be my Lord, my Shepherd, my Stronghold, and my Refuge. Take me under your wing, O Lord, and let me know that you do not reject me as long as I keep asking you to forgive me. Perhaps my doubt in your forgiveness is a greater sin than the sins I consider too great to be forgiven. Perhaps I make myself too important, too great when I think that I cannot be embraced by you anymore. Lord, look at me, accept my prayer as you accepted Peter’s prayer, and let me not run away from you in the night as Judas did.

Bless me, Lord, in this Holy Week, and give me the grace to know your loving presence more intimately. Amen."

This space in the newsletter is a small way we continue to celebrate the goodness of God all year long, and practice being aware of His presence in our lives. So, if you have stories of God's goodness big or small, hit reply to this email and send them our way. We would love to hear them, pray in praise over them and talk to you about sharing them.

To spur your thoughts to God's goodness start by asking yourself these questions:

What Good have you witnessed recently?

What Good has God brought into your life?

What Good has God prompted you to do for one another?

God is Good!!
