Bias Sermon Series
Like it or not, we all have biases, and those influence how we relate to other people. In the Roman world, there were clear divisions between people: the haves and have-nots, the powerful and the weak, the educated and the uneducated. The church was meant to be a place where these divisions were absent, a place where every person had an equal seat at the table. In Christ, all of humanity is equally loved, forgiven, gifted, valued, and welcomed into the family of God. During this series, we will be working through the second chapter of James’ letter to the early church, where he talks about the dangers of division, of biases, of partiality within the church.
Sunday, February 16th: Wealthy Over Poor
Being partial to the wealthy person over the poor person devalues both. James’ warning given to the early church in the first century are as true today as when he wrote them. Our natural tendency is to place value on earthly things and value people in light of them when, in the Kingdom, we are to find our inherent value rooted in our Creator. James gives a pretty stern warning and it isn’t merely a valuing the poor over the wealthy, it’s about valuing both according to how they are viewed through Gospel lenses instead of earthly ones.

Adventure:Kids News
This Sunday in Adventure:Kids, our kids will be learning about how the early church came together to answer an important question, do people need to follow the law of Moses to be saved or is faith in Jesus enough? Through this lesson, kids will see how God's grace is for everyone, and that Jesus' sacrifice makes a way for all to be saved.
New Key Passage: "Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples." - Psalm 96:3
We can't wait to see you this Sunday!
Sermon notes and challenges for families are available on the Adventure:Kids Facebook page, OR click here for a pdf version.

Adventure Preschool Registration
Open for the 2025/26 School Year
Adventure Preschool exists to help families make a life-transforming connection with Jesus Christ while supporting them in educational goals for their children. We do this by setting learning standards for students that help them grow emotionally, academically and spiritually. We focus on incorporating areas of importance that encourage educational learning with fine and gross motor skills, phonics and literacy enhancement, and social and emotional development built into every aspect of our learning time. Our smaller class sizes give more opportunities for one on one interactions, creating positive environments that are led by two professional and nurturing educators. Adventure Preschool uses Pocket of Preschool curriculum in all classrooms.
Adventure Preschool registration is open for the 25/26 school year. We have available placements for Preschool and PreK, classes ages 3 to 5. Register early for this Fall! More information can be found on our website HERE.

Ash Wednesday Service
Wednesday, March 5th at 6:00pm
Join us in observing the beginning of Lent with our Ash Wednesday service done our way. This service will have roots in liturgical greetings, prayers, and other traditional participatory practices like the marking of ashes, but we'll be doing it in a way we feel God calling us to: as an Adventure family, humbly seeking to honor Jesus and rest in Him alongside one another this Lenten season. We don’t observe these prayers and practices as rituals, but as worshipful opportunities to connect with the Lord and with one another.

HVAC Project
What do I need to know?
- The furnaces in the Friendship Center side of the building are 41 years old and the furnaces in the Worship Center side of the building are 31 years old.
- There are over 20 ministries and groups that use the building on a regular basis, not including Worship Services. When the building gets too warm it is hard to meet. The addition of AC not only helps ministries meet in the summer, but opens up future possibilities, like being an emergency shelter.
- Session prayed and felt they wanted to bring the need for new furnaces and AC at Adventure to you our church family. We have gotten bids from 4 reputable companies. The cost for the whole project is between $185,000-$200,000.
What are we requesting the church family do?
PRAY! We are asking you to join us in prayer for this project. We are bringing this need to you, and trusting God for how he will use us to take care of this need. If you have any questions please email the MAIN OFFICE.
If you are feeling called to give, you can donate cash or check (please mark for the Top to Bottom Fund ) or visit our online giving system HERE and make sure to choose the Top to Bottom Fund in the drop down menu.

Adventure Finances
If you're interested in current church finances,
see our new January 2025 graphics included above here.
Q - Why is there such a huge difference between our expected income and our actual income for January?
A - Please don't panic. The January 2025 income was almost exactly the same as January 2024 income.
Also, any online contributions initiated in 2024 (regardless of how many days into January that it took to be deposited), were included in December 2024 income. That is part of the reason December income looks so high & January so low.
If you have any financial questions here at Adventure, please email me. I'm happy to answer them. Please continue to send your questions to me HERE.
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give,
not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
-2 Corinthians 9:7
Thank you for supporting Adventure of Faith Church.

This section is a weekly reminder that God is Good!
He is good to us every single day & we will praise His name!
| |
This God is Good moment shared from Callie:
This past Saturday we hosted our annual Date Night event, and God provided in so many ways! Couples with young children took time to connect while on a date, equipped with date night questions and resources to support further connection. Kids and volunteers at the church had a blast! God has used this event as an opportunity for Adventure to support marriages and practice generosity. We are grateful that He has continued to provide in this way!
God is Good!

This space in the newsletter is a small way we continue to celebrate the goodness of God all year long, and practice being aware of His presence in our lives. So, if you have stories of God's goodness big or small, hit reply to this email and send them our way. We would love to hear them, pray in praise over them and talk to you about sharing them.
To spur your thoughts to God's goodness start by asking yourself these questions:
What Good have you witnessed recently?
What Good has God brought into your life?
What Good has God prompted you to do for one another?
God is Good!!
