Advent Sermon Series
The Christmas season is often filled with activity- fun events, gatherings with friends, family traditions, and even frantic shopping for those last-minute gifts. In the midst of all of this busyness, Christ followers remember that this is the season when God Himself came into the world in order to save it. We worship, we sing praise, we reflect and respond to this reality. Yet before we do any of these things, we must first seek to settle our minds and calm our hearts that we might truly behold our Savior. This Advent season, we seek to put that which is of first importance truly first: appreciating our Savior, embodied in a baby, born to redeem the world. Join us this season as we seek to earnestly Behold Him.
Sunday, December 14th: Son of David
Throughout the Gospels, many people refer to Jesus as the ‘Son of David’—a title Jesus applies to Himself as well. In fact, Scripture uses this name for Him seventeen different times. But what does it mean? And why does it matter that the child born in Bethlehem was truly a descendant of David—the long-awaited King God promised to His people? Join us this week as we explore this profound title of Jesus and continue to behold Him throughout this Advent season.

Daily Prayers, Digging Deeper Guide and coordinating Life Group Curriculum are available each week on Sunday to further explore this Sermon Series. You can find those resources (for this week and ALL previous weeks) HERE or at the Welcome Center on Sunday.
Advent Specific Resources:
If you want to know all about Advent and what to expect at Adventure this Advent season, check out our website HERE for all events and details. There are still a few Advent Take-Home Kits available to jump in where we're at or take one to a friend. This resource was created to help make space for us to lean into our theme this year, to pare back the "stuff" and simply Behold Him.

Blue Christmas
“Look up and see! Who created these?
He brings out the stars by number; he calls all of them by name.
Because of his great power and strength, not one of them is missing.”
- Isaiah 40:26
Christmas can be a time of great joy, but it can also be a time when hold loss and grief. Isaiah gives us hope, reminding us that our lost loved ones are not forgotten; “He calls all of them by name, and because of His great power and strength, not one of them is missing.” Perhaps you are grieving over the loss of a loved one, struggling with an illness, or are experiencing grief in other forms. Whatever it may be, those looking for comfort and hope have a place here. This Sunday we'll be taking a moment at the end of service to hold space for this loss and grief, to fill out star ornaments to hang on the trees in the Worship Center as a reminder that grief and joy can coexist during this season -- and through it all, Jesus is with us.
Whether you’re fixing your eyes on Jesus through squinty-eyed happiness or sorrow-filled tears this season, you have a place here. We see you, we love you, and we are grateful to walk this road of grief and hope alongside you.

Adventure:Kids News
This Sunday in Adventure:Kids we learn that the baby Jesus fulfilled Isaiah’s prophecy, as well as other Old Testament prophecies, about the coming Savior. Through His life, death, and resurrection, Jesus fulfilled God’s plan of redemption that God planned before the world began.
We can't wait to see you this Sunday!

End of Year Adventure Finances
The generosity of our Adventure of Faith Church family blows me away! We went into this holiday season behind financially and in November alone we received $77,616 in general giving. That is more than we have received in one month in a very long time. December is starting off strong as well. We still are behind for the year, but God is providing through this church family and we have been able to do all the things He has called us to.
It isn’t just finances where we see generosity happening. People are checking in with one another and meeting each others needs. They are visiting someone who is lonely and struggling and stepping up to volunteer when they see a need. They have supported families in need through the baskets and giving tree. God is working in and through us to reflect His generous nature to so many. It is a busy season and it is a gift and blessing to be reminded of our God and how He works through His people during this Christmas time. Thank you to God and to all of you.
As we close up this year, I wanted to remind you that if you would like to contribute financially to Adventure and have it included in your 2025 tax year, please know the following:
- Debit/Credit card gifts made online must be completed by December 31, 2025
- Personal checks must be dated in 2025 AND physically in the building by December 31, 2025.
- Checks sent via the US Postal Service must be dated in 2025 AND postmarked by December 31, 2025.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out, or email me HERE. Thank you again for following where God is calling and being such a generous church family. -Candice
| Reminder: Some of you may receive emails that look like they are coming from church staff requesting anonymous support for an urgent church need in the form of money or purchasing gift cards. This is a phishing scam, and they tend to happen more this time of year. Adventure of Faith does not communicate church needs in this manner. Any financial opportunities for donations come through our normal methods of communicating, and we would never pressure anyone into donating in an urgent way. Please know that when in doubt, you can always call the church to verify. Thank you! | | |

This section is a weekly reminder that God is Good!
He is good to us every single day & we will praise His name!

It was incredible to watch God work in and through our church family the last couple of weeks. From food donations for baskets, to bags and bags of giving tree gifts, to money given for baskets and giving tree, to wrapping gifts, and setting up all the food for baskets. God provided through so many people. There are so many cool stories but I wanted to share a few.
There have been a few times when we thought we weren’t going to have quite enough of the food items and when we would prepare to go buy it someone would show up with what we needed. Or we had multiple giving tree tags left and we didn’t know if we were going to have enough and people gave money and we were able to fulfill all the tags plus get some fun extras. People came on Wednesday afternoon to wrap some gifts that couldn’t come on Wednesday night. Our Basecamp adult groups finished wrapping all the gifts! Some people stayed later to finish up wrapping. It was hundreds of gifts. The youth set up tables, built boxes, and organized all the non-perishable food donations for Christmas baskets. God did all of that through this church family so we can be the hands and feet of Jesus to others.
With that we can’t help but say... God is Good! - Candice

This space in the newsletter is a small way we continue to celebrate the goodness of God all year long, and practice being aware of His presence in our lives. So, if you have stories of God's goodness big or small, hit reply to this email and send them our way. We would love to hear them, pray in praise over them and talk to you about sharing them.
To spur thoughts on God's goodness, consider asking yourself these questions:
What Good have you witnessed recently?
What Good has God brought into your life?
What Good has God prompted you to do for one another?
God is Good!!
