John 13: 30-38

You may remember that last week, in our ongoing study of the Gospel of John, we found Jesus and his disciples in the upper room preparing for the celebration of the Passover. The public ministry of Jesus was over. He would soon find himself abandoned and alone as he was led to the cross.
This is where we pick up the story...

What Jesus says here is critical when it comes to understanding what it means to be a Christian, a follower of Jesus. He tells us that we are to love one another like he has loved us. That’s a command. It’s also a sign that you truly are a follower of Jesus.
Let's think about three common circumstances where we often have the opportunity to love with the heart of God.

Operation Christmas Child
Is Samaritan's Purse / Operation Christmas Child planning to do shoebox collections this (crazy) year?
YES! Collection Week is coming up November 16-23.

The COVID-19 global pandemic has disrupted everyday life for millions of people around the world. Yet, Samaritan’s Purse continues to share the eternal hope of the Gospel and to serve in Jesus’ Name. We want boys and girls around the world to know that God loves them and has not forgotten them during this time of fear and uncertainty. Children need great joy now more than ever. Most of all, they need the hope found only in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We’re looking forward to a great Operation Christmas Child season as we prayerfully consider ways to modify our collection and processing in light of COVID-19. We are already monitoring local, state, and national guidelines and making adjustments to help protect the health of those involved in preparing shoebox gifts.

Stay tuned for additional details to come.
