Are we there yet?
Every parent knows how bored and impatient kids in a car will inevitably ask the question, “are we there yet?” Many of us are feeling a little bit like those kids as we wait out this pandemic quarantine. People are working from home, not working at all, missing their church friends, out of their usual routines, and every kid is a home schooler.
“Are we there yet?” is a great question. The problem is, we’re still not sure where “there” is with respect to the end of this unprecedented crisis. Where is the light at the end of the tunnel? How much longer?
Jesus said, “Don’t worry about tomorrow. Let tomorrow worry about itself. Today has enough troubles of its own.” (Matt 6:34)
So today it is. How can we make this a special day? How can we make this the day that Lord has made, and find a way to rejoice and be glad in it? Make this a special day with your spouse, or with your kids, or with a friend on social media, or by appreciating God’s beautiful creation, or by growing closer to God through prayer and reading His Word. Our world may never be the same, but Jesus is the same, yesterday, today, and forever!
I look forward to “seeing you” on Sunday at 10:00 am on Facebook, or in the afternoon and thereafter on YouTube.
