Celebrating St. Joseph on Saturday
Parents Prayer to St. Joseph

O glorious St. Joseph, to you God committed the care of His only begotten Son amid the many dangers of this world.
We come to you and ask you to take under your special protection the children God has given us.
We consecrate them to you today, that through this consecration they may become your foster children.
Guard them, guide their steps in life, form their hearts after the
hearts of Jesus and Mary.
St. Joseph, who felt the tribulation and worry of a parent when the child Jesus was lost, protect our dear children for time and eternity.
May you be their father and counsellor.
Let them, like Jesus, grow in age as well as in wisdom and grace before God and others.

Amen
Let Them Eat Pie on Pi Day
Pi Day was a school wide celebration of lessons about Pi, crafts, competitions, raffles, and a vote for students' favorite pie...dessert or pizza. Which would you choose? Our early guess was pizza would be the most popular, but in the end we found our school community has a bit of a sweet tooth. Lucky for our raffle winners and students who recited the most digits of Pi we awarded...mini dessert pies!

Second Grade Wishes for a Rainbow of Things
Our Lenten Journey Continues
Our children are spending part of their daily religion classes learning more about Lent as they join Jesus on their 40 day journey. Here we share some of the creations from our fifth graders who illustrated a word they connected to Lent.
Lenten Mission Reaches Near and Far

Help Us to Support Local Newtown Organizations That Serve Those in Need and also the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth as they continue to grow their school in Ghana
Each day, during Lent, students can bring in monetary donations to support the Lenten Mission. For each $1, the student will receive a raffle ticket. Each Friday the tickets collected for that week will be entered in a drawing. Students in Pre-K through Grade 3 can win a stuffed animal. In grades 4-8 the prizes will be $5 Dunkin Donuts gift cards. We send our heartfelt gratitude to our students and families for helping us raise over $900 for the missions during our first week.
Our Third Graders Step Into History
Our third graders read biographies of famous people in history; and created a book report with a twist. In fact, they stepped into history to present their book report. Their display boards and presentations were very impressive and classmates were both informed and entertained by seeing these historical people come to life in their classroom!
Immaculate High School Brings
Seussical Preview to SRS
Immaculate generously donated 2 tickets to our school community. We had each class hold a raffle and then took those winners and selected, from a hat, the school winner. Congratulations to Madison, grade 3! If your child came home excited about the performance they saw on Tuesday, click below to see the flyer and how to order tickets.

The Spring Musical
GODSPELL
Students have anxiously awaited the announcement, and Mr. Cappiello was excited to share that this year's production will be Godspell. Auditions took place this week and our young actors and actresses are eagerly awaiting the cast announcements.

Parents, if you have an interest in being part of the excitement by building and painting sets and props, please contact Mr. Cappiello. He is looking for a team of parents to help bring this year's musical alive on stage with a colorful, engaging set and props.

In the meantime, here is a link to a musical performance by our 5th grade and monologues by several of our 7th graders.

Cooking Club Votes for Pizza Pi(e)
Pi(e) Day seemed to keep going this week. While the school favorite leaned towards sweet, dessert pie; our afternoon cooking club went with pizza pie. Club members keep their own recipe books, and cook a different dish each week. The pizza was popular as those still in the building after school seemed to be drawn to the Gathering Hall by the delicious aroma floating through the hallways!
