Happy Halloween St. Rose Families,
Sending you spooky and sweet wishes for a Happy Halloween; along with a few event updates for the upcoming week. Another turn of the page in our calendar and a busy week to begin the month of November! It is also the end of the first quarter and beginning of the second quarter for our children this week. I've included some of our pre-Halloween fun in the classrooms, from costumed characters to pumpkin painting and decorating to wrapping mummies and bubbly science fun to solving puzzles for a classroom escape. Monday proved to be an eventful and exciting Halloween Eve Day; not to mention the beautiful night God sent our way for the HSA annual Trunk 'R Treat on Saturday. The smiles, friendship, and fun have brought October to a memorable ending.
As we turn to November and the thoughts of the many blessings we have and are grateful for; we again turn our thoughts to helping those in need. We are collecting CANDY and FOOD to provide Thanksgiving and pantry food staples, along with Thanksgiving Treat bags, to the Faith Food Pantry. See our Dates to Circle below. This Friday our Buddies will gather to create cards for our Veterans; our First and Fifth Grade Buddies will join together later in the day to fill Boxes of Joy to bring Christmas love and care to children who need our prayers and the light of hope that our gifts bring.
Bright and early this morning, we had the gathering of our new "SRS Sunrise Service Team" . I have had so many students reach out with new and heartwarming ideas, but also busy schedules after school, so I offered early morning before school; and our students enthusiastically accepted, happy to arrive early, to work on service projects for others, as the sun rises. Today they filled snack bags with goodies and scripture cards to be donated to the Merton House; this project was organized and all items donated by Ethan in 7th grade and his family. Ethan had a group of classmates (and a 3rd grade sibling) join him. See our smiling Sunrisers below.
As you can see we leave one event filled month to begin another. For today though, focus on the silly, spooky, sweet, giggles and excitement of our children and the fun of Halloween. Wishing you safe and happy travels this evening; with many treats and no tricks.
Warm Regards,
Mrs. B
