Advice From A Tree

Stand up tall and proud.
Sink your roots into the earth.
Go out on a limb.
Drink plenty of water.
Remember your roots.
Be content with your natural beauty.
Enjoy the view!

~Ilan Shamir

When I first started teaching outdoor yoga in Grandview Park, this was one of my favorite poems and themes for class. I love the simplicity of the tree's advice and how it connects with the deep wisdom of Yoga. As we wind down the last two weeks of September and approach the fall equinox, let's meditate on the trees & sunshine (while it's still here)... and reflect back on summer. What was your favorite adventure over the summer? What abundance did you experience? What are you hoping to invite into your life this fall?

For me, my favorite adventure was going to Brazil, and I experienced a lot of abundance with the growth of my therapy practice. I hope to invite fun and laughter into my fall and let go of worry about things I can't control. If you need some help meditating on trees, nature, or the end of summer, come join us for our amazing outdoor yoga classes before they close for the season!
