BART Major Service Changes
Starting Monday, February 11th - Date of Completion Not Yet Announced

Starting Monday, February 11 th , BART is now in operation starting at 5:00 AM rather than 4:00 AM systemwide until further notice in order to conduct a large scale project that will seismically retrofit the Transbay Tube. 

In addition to the 5:00 AM opening, other major BART schedule changes beginning February 11 th , 2019 will impact Sunday and weekday night riders.
Early Bird Bus Service

BART has partnered with eight transit agencies to provide a network of bus service that will operate between 3:50 AM and 5:30 AM. The Early Bird Express includes 15 new bus lines running in both directions between stops. Twenty BART stations will be served, including six stations in San Francisco and the Temporary Transbay Terminal. Bus trips leaving from East Bay BART stations will arrive at the Temporary Transbay Terminal at 4:40 AM, 5:00 AM, 5:15 AM and 5:30 AM.

  • Weekdays after 9:00 PM, trains will single-track through the Transbay Tube and run every 24 minutes instead of every 20 minutes systemwide.
  • On Friday evenings, trains will be added to the schedule after 8:00 PM to the Green, Red, and Yellow lines to reduce wait times and increase capacity.
  • The first train from Daly City (5:03 AM) to Antioch will skip from MacArthur directly to Pittsburg/Bay Point. The next train from Daly City (5:11 AM) will make all stops.
Modified Sunday Service

  • Trains will single-track between Embarcadero and 24th Street/Mission stations.
  • Dublin/Pleasanton/Blue Line service will operate between Dublin/Pleasanton and MacArthur.
  • All Lake Merritt-Dublin/Warm Springs Transbay riders must transfer at 12th Station – go downstairs one level.
  • All Millbrae riders must transfer to/from a San Francisco/Antioch train at SFO.
