Greetings Marketing,

We’re excited to honor Women’s History Month in March! In opening ourselves up to hear all voices and perspectives, we can push forward into a world of more equity and inclusion. At NAF, we work to ensure that all students, regardless of their background, have the necessary opportunities to be successful in today’s and tomorrow’s workforce. Employer partners and advisory boards play a key role in preparing students, and a few powerful examples are highlighted this month.

Speaking of powerful examples, now is the perfect time to highlight advisory board members that exemplify service to their academies and their community: nominations for the NAF Next 2023 Advisory Board Champion Awards are now open!

Lenovo “Girls Belong in Tech” February Event

Did you know that women make up less than 30% of the tech workforce?

Lenovo is trying to change that! On February 17, Lenovo hosted more than 150 girls and nonbinary high school students from NAF Academies across the state of North Carolina as part of their Girls Belong in Tech event. The day was filled with tours, inspiring speakers, and hands-on activities.

“Girls belong in tech because diverse voices create innovative products and we want to encourage students to consider careers in STEM.”

- Libby Long Richards, Community Engagement Manager, Lenovo
