CPDA Attends BakerHostetler Legislative Seminar in Washington

CPDA recently attended BakerHostetler’s 37th Annual Legislative Dinner and Seminar at the invitation of CPDA political advisor and former Congressman Peter Roskam. The event featured remarks and policy discussions with Senator Bill Hagerty (R-TN), Senator Peter Welch (D-VT), and other congressional leaders.

The seminar provided insight into the legislative and regulatory issues shaping the policy environment in Washington. Engagement in these forums helps CPDA stay close to emerging priorities and strengthens the association’s ability to advocate effectively on behalf of its members.

BakerHostetler is one of Washington’s leading law firms, with more than 1,000 attorneys advising clients on complex business, regulatory, and public policy matters. Roskam serves as the firm’s Legislative Practice leader, bringing extensive congressional and policy experience to the role.

CPDA Engages on Silicone Chemistry Value Chain

CPDA and representatives from member company Momentive participated in a planning session this week around a proposed collaborative initiative organized by the American Chemistry Council.

The effort is focused on exploring the environmental degradation of products enhanced by silicone chemistry and provides an opportunity for downstream users to help shape the scientific, regulatory, and commercial landscape surrounding these products.

CPDA will continue to monitor the initiative and engage where member interests are implicated. CPDA members interested in participating should contact Terry Kippley.

CPDA EPA Fungicide Strategy - Aerial Data

As noted in previous updates, CPDA will provide input to the EPA on the Draft Fungicide Strategy. Those include minimum spray solution concentrations of guar (ppm) instead of formulated use rates, comments on seed treatment dustoff, polymer DRA use in the agricultural market, and a proposed ASTM standard that includes testing and integration to polymer DRA labeling.

In addition, if you have any aerial wind tunnel data on polymer and guars DRAs, please advise Eric Spandl or Matt Meredith.

ESA Communications Resources: FAQ Available for CPDA Members

As ESA requirements continue to evolve, CPDA is equipping members with practical communications tools designed to help simplify a complex policy conversation for growers.

This week, CPDA is highlighting its ESA FAQ resource, which helps explain how adjuvants and drift reduction tools can support on-target applications, stewardship, and compliance planning.

These materials are intended to support a consistent industry message and help members communicate clearly through the voices growers already know and trust, including agronomists and sales teams.

CPDA Participates in AFBF Environmental Issues Conference

CPDA participated in the American Farm Bureau Federation’s Environmental Issues Conference this week in Charleston, SC.

The conference provided an opportunity to discuss pesticide policy, ESA mitigation, and the role of practical compliance tools with state Farm Bureau staff from across the country.
