Rally in Jefferson City to Protect Trans Rights
Greetings!

Last week, the Missouri Senate passed two bills that attack transgender youth and families.

On Wednesday, March 29, at 2 p.m., PROMO invites all LGBTQ+ Missourians and allies to join our coalition at the Missouri State Capitol to protest all anti-trans legislation at the “Protest for Trans Rights.”

The protest will take place on the steps of the Capitol building located at 201 W Capitol Ave, Jefferson City, MO 65101.

JCRC is proud to sign on as sponsor of the rally and Maharat Rori Picker Neiss will be one of the speakers.
PROMO is arranging bus transportation to Jefferson City. Find the link to sign up for the bus here.

If you can’t attend in person, there are others ways you can help. Click here and scroll down to the bottom.

Take Action Now!

While the Advocacy Updates is on an extended Spring Break, we want to make sure you have access to all the information you need.

We recommend the Missouri Equity Education Partnership’s weekly newsletter for a great recap of everything that happened in Jefferson City the prior week and actions you can take this week.

We also recommend the Missouri Voter Protection Coalition weekly email, for the latest on Voter Rights legislation and a full run down of upcoming lobby days.

And finally, HJR 43, a bill that would attack our citizen initiative process by making it harder to get a citizen initiative on the ballot and more difficult for measures to pass once on the ballot continued to move in the Senate.

As HJR 43 is nearing the Senate floor, it is important to call your Senator and tell them you oppose all changes to the initiative petition process and to vote NO on HJR 43. Dial 1-833-491-0334 to record a voicemail message or click here to find your Senator's direct contact information.

Also, this just in... Tomorrow, Wednesday, March 29 at 8:00 am, the Missouri Senate will hear the Missouri Non Discrimination Act (MONA). Testimony can only be submitted in person, but you can call the legislator on the Senate General Laws Committee and ask them to support this bill. Please review the Advocacy Alert from March 6 for more information.

Thank you for your advocacy,
