We need your help getting comments opposing TennCare work reporting requirements
By February 7th
friend,
A new study from the Georgetown University Center for Children and Families finds that
68,000 of Tennessee's poorest parents could lose health coverage if the federal government approves the state's proposal to impose new reporting requirements on parents and caregivers receiving TennCare.
Will you take a couple moments today or this weekend to complete a very short
survey about the state government's proposed changes to TennCare?
Comments are dueby Thursday, February 7. Will you share it with your friends and loved ones?
Your comments are the way to
defeat this harmful proposal
As part of the approval process, the federal government is required to consider all comments. If it doesn't, the proposal can be overturned. In
the case of Kentucky, a federal judge blocked the state's proposed work requirements from taking effect, explicitly criticizing HHS's disregard for the
public comments that were overwhelmingly against the plan.
The over 11,000 public comments submitted in response to Kentucky's proposal made the difference. Add your voice today to help defeat this harmful proposal in Tennessee.
It's especially effective if we can get comments from individuals and family members with TennCare. You can write a few lines about the negative impact on your family, clients, or people in your community.
Cite research, organizational comments & news articles showing why the proposal would harm Tennessee families:
