Executive Orders Affecting Charitable Nonprofits

Dear Valued Members,

After his January 20 inauguration, President Trump signed dozens of executive orders (EOs) covering a broad range of issues, including diversity, equity, and inclusion programs; government grants and contracts; civic engagement; immigration; and certain nonprofit subsectors.

Some of the EOs won’t take effect immediately, and many are expected to be immediately challenged in court. Our partners at the National Council of Nonprofits developed the chart linked below outlining some of the EOs that may affect nonprofits directly or indirectly. As a member of AZ Impact for Good, we want to provide you this exclusive resource.

This document will be updated frequently as more information becomes available about the effects of the EOs. Please continue to use this link (bookmark it) to see the most up-to-date version.

Next steps may include:

  • Informational webinar(s) about the EOs
  • Guidance for nonprofits and grantmakers that may be affected
  • Updates on legal challenges to EOs

Stay tuned for more information.
