New Governor Kathleen Hochul will deliver address at 3 p.m.
Newly appointed Governor Kathleen Hochul will deliver a virtual address to the people of New York today at 3 p.m. You can watch the address live at www.governor.ny.gov.  It’s expected she will outline her priorities for her tenure as Governor.

Kathleen Courtney Hochul was sworn in today as New York’s 57th Governor. She is the first woman to serve in the seat and takes office following the resignation of Andrew M. Cuomo, who served for 10 years in the office and 4 years as the state’s Attorney General. Governor Hochul will complete the term of office, which ends on December 31, 2022. She has announced plans to run for the seat in the next gubernatorial election in 2022.

A press release issued yesterday announced two key appointments for the Hochul administration. Karen Persichilli Keogh will serve as Secretary to the Governor and Elizabeth Fine will become Counsel to the Governor. Governor Hochul is expected to appoint a new Lt. Governor as early as today.

This transition in state leadership affords an opportunity to enhance relationships with the Governor's Office and elevate our most critical issues with the new administration. We look forward to working with Governor Hochul and her team, and will continue to advocate for New Yorkers with I/DD, our system of essential supports and services, and our dedicated workforce.
