The Office for People With Developmental Disabilities is inviting comments on the focus areas
for the agency’s 5.07 plan or items that should be considered as one-time financial investments in the service system. We will use the feedback from this survey to inform our response to OPWDD.

The 5.07 Plan (after section 5.07 of NYS mental hygiene law) will include the top priorities for OPWDD policy and planning efforts for the next several years. OPWDD intends to release the plan in Fall 2021, following stakeholder feedback and discussion.

You can complete the survey here.

We ask that you please submit your response by Friday, June 18, to ensure we have time to synthesize the feedback and craft a collective response from The Arc New York.

The last time OPWDD engaged and published a 5.07 plan was between 2011 and 2016, but has been operating without such a guide since then. The Arc NY advocated for a new five year plan to commence through this year’s budget negotiations and succeeded, hence why we are asking for your crucially important input. This is one of our opportunities to shape the landscape of I/DD supports and services for the next five years and beyond.

Thank you for your input on the future of the support system for New Yorkers with I/DD.
