WINTER AMBASSADOR PROGRAM
The Winter 25/26 Ambassador Program goes live this weekend, on November 1st! This Chamber initiative supports workforce training and retention, while enhancing the visitor experience across Revelstoke.
As in previous years, employees undergo local knowledge and customer service training in exchange for a range of benefits from local businesses. PLUS - we've partnered with Okanagan College to share eight skills modules with Ambassadors, designed to boost employee training and confidence.
If your looking for a way to support your team's progression and help them make the most of their time in Revelstoke, tell them about the Ambassador Program, and our live screening event on the 24th November!

REVELSTOKE SECONDARY SCHOOL WEX PROGRAM EXTENDS THANKS TO BUSINESS COMMUNITY
The RSS Work Experience Program has notified us that seven of the businesses who signed up through the Chamber's sign-up form will be hosting students this year. The Chamber and Kristen Scheiber of the program would like to thank all the businesses that signed up. Scheiber shared, 'It’s truly heart-warming to see how committed our community is to helping youth explore their career interests.' We would like to remind businesses that placement matches were based on individual students' interests, so not being matched should not discourage you from participating in the future. Our webpage that housed the form will remain live so business can revisit the information, and we announce when the next intake opens.

REIMAGINING IMMIGRATION: REVELSTOKE'S VOICE IN A NATIONAL WORKFORCE SOLUTION
Revelstoke is helping shape a national solution to one of Canada’s biggest workforce challenges. The Chamber has been working with a nationwide coalition to advocate for a new immigration stream, the Canadian International Workforce Program, designed to support employers struggling to fill low-skilled and seasonal roles.
The proposed program would offer more stable, year-round solutions and better pathways to permanent residency for foreign workers. A full policy paper outlining the program has now been released, read it to see how Revelstoke is helping shape the future of Canada’s workforce.

RESORT COMMUNITY CHAMBERS UNITE TO STRENGTHEN ADVOCACY AND COLLABORATION
Chambers of Commerce that operate within resort municipalities in British Columbia have come together to form a new Resort Chambers of Commerce Coalition (RCCC), a collaborative alliance designed to amplify the collective voice of businesses in resort-based economies, and identify opportunities for partnerships to support business and economic growth.
The coalition’s first joint action was submitting a proposed policy resolution to the Canadian Chamber of Commerce focused on immigration and workforce challenges in Canadian resort communities. The policy calls for the Government of Canada to enhance the effectiveness of the Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP) and support the vitality of Canada’s Resort Communities
