You Are the Heart and Soul of What We Do
Meet the PR Team!
There are some new faces on the PR Team! We thought we would take a moment to introduce (or re-introduce) ourselves to you as we close out the year and look forward to 2023!
Cheryl Talley, Director of PR/Communications
Cheryl's Role: Managing & leading the PR/Communications team, event support, communication, media & public relations.
Favorite thing about working at Donor Alliance: Being part of the mission of saving and healing lives is such an honor. It is a privilege to walk alongside the heroic donor families, recipients and Advocates for Life, and work with a dedicated staff as we make a difference in our community. I feel so blessed to meet so many wonderful and inspiring people and hear their stories.
Hobbies: I love spending time with my children, Jill and Patrick, exploring together, either on a hike in Colorado or in an exotic place across the sea. I also enjoy doing calligraphy or craft projects or reading a book with one of my cats, Clyfford or Georgia, on my lap.
What are you most looking forward to in 2023? Meeting each one of you. Together, we will share stories and the important message of signing up to be a donor.
Mandy Dahm, Volunteer Coordinator
Mandy's Role: I manage our volunteer program, Advocates for Life. My goal is to help connect you, our Advocates, with opportunities that are most meaningful to you. I also provide community events and signature events support & serve on the Donor Dash, Donor Alliance Culture, Safety, Evacuation & Performance Excellence committees representing our Advocate program.
Favorite thing about working at Donor Alliance: The people- we have an incredible workforce of staff and volunteers who come together for one mission.
Hobbies: My Great Pyrenees, Henry, loves walks and car rides & is my largest hobby. I also love traveling, music and art.
Most Looking Forward to in 2023: I'm excited for some new events and initiatives we are planning to help continuing to encourage our communities to sign up as an organ, eye and tissue donor.
Anne Gaspers, Public Education Coordinator
Anne's Role: I work with our Transplantation Science program for grades 6-12, manage the Staff Speakers Bureau program, serve as DMV Liaison for Colorado and assist with Advocate training. Favorite Thing About Working at Donor Alliance: I love the variety of my job! Teaching the public about donation and transplantation is definitely something I love as well as connecting with volunteers and staff. Getting to know people and their stories makes my job more meaningful.
Hobbies: Knitting, crochet, and cross stich. I love bike rides with my husband and traveling. Fun Fact- I've traveled to all 50 states and 15 countries.
Most Looking Forward to in 2023: I am most looking forward to the promises of joy that 2023 will bring!
Sammi Magyar, Event Coordinator
Sammi's Role: I love event coordinating because you get to play a role in bringing people together for one common reason, whatever that may be. I have the privilege of coordinating our four signature events each year that allow us and our community to honor, celebrate and recognize those touched by organ and tissue donation.
What I Love About Working for Donor Alliance: Because of the unbelievable people I have had the chance to meet throughout the 2.5 years I have been here. Any opportunity I get to hear one of our Advocates stories is a special one and always reminds me of how important and impactful our mission is.
Hobbies: Spending time with my family and friends is something I love to do very much. I also love trying new recipes I find on social media and love going to country concerts.
What I'm Looking Forward to in 2023: I look forward to working more with our Advocates in 2023! If that is within community events, signature events, or coming by the office to help with admin work! I am also excited to see our signature events continue to grow.
Jen Middleton, Communications Coordinator
Jen's Role: I support in managing digital properties including social media, website, etc. I support in our marketing and advertising efforts and developing content for different platforms. Additionally, I support community events.
What I love about working for Donor Alliance: I love being able to hear all of the incredible stories around the nation. Both donor families and recipients are incredible and I get the honor to share many of these stories digitally to the public, which I love doing.
Hobbies: In my free time, I spend a lot of time outdoors hiking, camping, skiing and just enjoying the sunshine. I love animals, so spend time with my roommates dog and at our local animal shelter. What I'm Looking Forward to in 2023: I'm looking forward to spending another year with friends and family doing things I love. I am really excited for the 2023 ski season as well!
Val Munchmeyer, Community Engagement Coordinator
Val's Role: As Community Engagement Coordinator, my role at Donor Alliance is to engage and educate multicultural and faith-based communities about organ, eye and tissue donation. Through different digital communication platforms, traditional advertising, public relations, events and creativity.

What I'm Looking Forward to in 2023: Continue to grow by helping the community in this beautiful cause of saving and healing lives. Also, keeping creative always, through my work and personal life is my fuel.

Looking forward to 2023: I am most looking forward to experiencing our signature events for the first time, especially Donor Dash!
Honoring Donors Through National Donor Sabbath
Annually, from Friday to Sunday two weeks before Thanksgiving, National Donor Sabbath is observed. This observance seeks to include places of worship in promotion donation. Faith leaders from many religions, donor families, transplant recipients, and donation and transplantation professionals participate in services to increase awareness about the lifesaving gifts passed to others for donation and transplantation and honor donors who have given the gift of life. During National Donor Sabbath, Donor Alliance reached out to members of our community connected to donation and transplantation to share how they honor donors. Both recipients and donor families responded. You can click the button below to keep reading.
