As a proud Arizona native and an alumna of Red Mountain High School, Shannon's ties to the Mesa community run deep. Her parents continue to call the same Mesa residence their home where she grew up, and she takes great pride in her husband’s dedicated service to the Mesa Fire Department.

In addition to her professional achievements, Shannon's commitment to community service is reflected in her extensive involvement with organizations such as Oakwood Creative Care. She served as the Board Chair for this nonprofit organization and remains actively engaged as a valued board member dedicated to enhancing the lives of those with cognitive impairments.

Shannon Heinze's leadership skills and her passion for community betterment are further evident in her prior roles as Board Member and Chair of Mesa Leadership Training and Development program within the Mesa Chamber of Commerce. As a 2016 graduate of Mesa Leadership, she knows the program serves as a catalyst for building connections within the city of Mesa, fostering relationships with local businesses, city leaders and politicians. Shannon is deeply grateful for the opportunities she’s had to connect and engage with the Mesa community through this program.

Shannon Heinze expressed her enthusiasm about her new role, saying, "I am honored to be appointed as the incoming Chair of the Mesa Chamber of Commerce Board. I look forward to working closely with the Chamber's dedicated team and continuing our mission to improve, promote and advocate for businesses in Mesa. Together, we will make a positive impact on Mesa's business community and its residents."

Chamber President, Sally Harrison, remarked, “I love that Shannon will be serving as our board chair, following previous solid and committed leaders. Having worked with Shannon as our chair of Mesa Leadership, I am confident that she will bring a high level of enthusiasm and challenge us to new opportunities for our members”.
